You are right. All information gained through torture is very subject to being wrong. Who wouldn't lie to stop being tortured?

I don't agree that all the information we get from torture is reliable. Not at all.
Many of those "witches" tortured and killed were tricked into admitting things or told that if they didn't confess, their friends and families would be tortured and killed as well.
Additionally, consider what kinds of people were considered witches: people who could swim, women who spoke their mind and had strength. Now that's ridiculous.

No...... Sometimes men and women fail in this life even though they had good intentions..... The witch trials the best that I can ascertain were brought on by a failure to understand the true cause of the problems....
Maybe some of those poor souls were practicing witchcraft which the bible clearly states is wrong....
I heard that that there could have been some "parasite" in the grain..... The history channel, dis. chan. etc. had something on that.... The parasite caused heath problems.....

actually durring the witch trials there is not one case that was proven to be a witch, people just admitted it and then confessed to a priest to be saved before they were killed.
the actual witches were smart enough to hide what they were doing, and when someone got too close to the truth...go to church, and accuse them of being a witch, after that any counter accusation was seen as being done in spite and not taken seriously.

"we all know that all information that we get from torture is reliable" That is wrong in so many ways.
If you were tortured to the point where you thought the only way to get out of the pain was to say what they wanted, wouldn't you?
Many women who were very good people were targeted during those times. I'm not saying that paganistic religion is wrong.

They weren't witches, they were victims of circumstance. Real witches would not have done what the people were accusing those poor people of doing.

Silly question. There are no witches. All the accused, convicted, tortured and killed were done so wrongfully and their tormentors will be held accountable in the final judgment.

No, in fact we know that most of them were not. They were told if they admitted it they would be fine, but they were lied to.
