I'm not sure if this will help you but let me share a vision that I had at the Native Canadian Center in Toronto, Canada.
I had gone to their Eagle Staff Ceremony and while I was there, I had an incredible, soul lifting vision.
I saw a black sky filled with beautiful stars. Suddenly a whiff of smoke crossed the sky. As I watched, this smoke transformed itself into a large ship. I was brought to the edge of the ship so I could look inside. What I saw was astonishing, mind boggling and amazingly beautiful.
Inside the ship was every deity ever perceived by the human race. And when I say every deity, I MEAN every deity. From the ancient Egyptian cat goddess Bast, to Zeus, to Spiderwoman - even Jesus was there. And as I looked on in total amazement, I saw each deity drop a glittering silver rope over the side of the ship. I looked down these ropes, saw them enter earth's atmosphere and then dangle, unseen by the naked eye to the people below.
The people walked by these silver ropes being dropped by all of these astonishing deities. And as I watched, sometimes a person would stop and grab onto a rope. Then another person would grab onto a different rope. And in that moment, I realized the meaning of the vision. ALL the glittering silver ropes lead to the same place. The difference being, a particular, individual person grabbed hold of the rope that resonated or simply felt right to them.
I've come to realize that religion or basic human spirituality is something that must resonate with the individual. Being forced from birth to follow a particular religious path might end up being counterproductive to the individuals energy resonance and purpose in life. Consequently, I've come to believe that becoming an adult charges and challenges us all to "find" what is right for us. By doing that, we won't simply hold onto a particular deity's rope but be pulled up by it. It will, beyond anything else, give meaning to our lives.
Take this as your personal challenge and charge. Don't try to find what's "best." That is subjective rather than objective. Instead, read, research, visit with a variety of people with a variety of spiritual paths then only "choose" what literally sings to your soul, your very core being, what in fact "rings true" to you. Then and only then will you know the joy that real human spirituality can bring to you.

The best religion comes from your heart and your heart is a reflection of the person you are. There are good and bad people in all religions, but it is only by their actions that we see who they are. As a Christian, i could recommend my own faith, but i would also tell you that, on here the other night, someone asked "did people noticed the reaction of Buddhists when the Taliban blew up the Buddha statues in Afghanistan"..... there was no reaction, and that shows a very peaceful reflection of their faith, and an example to eveyone of what religion should be about.

I am not actually religious, I just try to do the right thing while making the most of life. But I understand and respect that others may feel the need for a religion, and if you are one of those people I would suggest Buddhism as being the most peaceful one.

There is no such thing as a peaceful religion. They have all been responsible for wars or the death of a large number of innocent people. So-called Christians persecuted non-believers during the Middle Ages.....there was the Crusades which was an attempt to take over the so-called Holy Land by believers...there was the Inquisition from the Catholic Church.....even the Mormons were responsible for a large number of deaths in Utah...and now of course we have the Muslim nutcases running around.
The best relgion you can find is to believe in yourself and the power of your mind to achieve peace and satisfaction in life.

Hmmmm! Peaceful religion is the one that respects each and every individual to love one another, give to charities, help the needy and the poor, respect women and men equal, not to harm animals for own consumption, not to be consume alchohol which makes a man do crazy stuff, rejects idol workship, only sees that there is one god, and one god only and guess what there is a religion that practises this, but I will let you do that homework of finding out which one it is.
and I promise you that you would find no loopholes in it which ever angle you look at it.

All "religion"is man invented and, at best, can only provide short term peace. You did not mention what you are wanting to change from. Is it one of the "denomination" that calls it's self "christian"... it you are in one of those and thinking that it is not peaceful then you have NOT been instructed correctly.
Those of The True Christian Faith are not dominated by mans "religion" and are, by the very definition of the word Chrisian, believers in peace.
If you have questions concerning the basics of The Christian Faith you may email me.
I know with absolute certainty that The Faith is The Way, The Truth, and The life. Only those who come to God in The Way He proscribes will receive His free gift of Salvation and enter Heaven... That is where True peace is.

My religion gives me peace. I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints, the second fastest growing religion in the world. Members of my church are 50% more likely not to be divorced; we have some of the lowest suicide ratings of any religion. Our religion is about truth, light and knowledge, love, forgiveness and how families can be together forever. We have the authority to practice the priesthood if we live righteously; the priesthood is the power of God on earth given to do his will. We have an incredible prophet, just like those in the bible! He speaks to us the things our father in heaven would have us hear. His name is Gordon B. Hinckley, and he is respected and loved around the world for his kindness and great knowledge. When you hear him speak your very soul can feel like it is on fire, this is what we call the holy ghost. He can speak truth to your mind and then you will KNOW that what you are hearing is true, you don't have to just hope it is. I know that my church is the true and living gospel because my heart has burned within me with such joy when I am doing what is right.
Lots of people don't like my church... they may tell you lies about Joseph Smith, the man who founded our church in the 1600s. He wasn’t a perfect man but I know that he was called of god to open the keys of the priesthood, and the miracles of heaven back to the earth. We "Mormons" as many call us are Christians although many other Christian faiths do not recognize that, Christ is my personal Savior and the true head of my church, we believe in temples, The book of Mormon (another testament of Jesus Christ and a history of the people on the American continents), repentance, baptism by immersion and all the things the bible teaches us.
you can learn lots more about us on lds.org, or email me with any questions, I would love to tell you more.

Jesus Christ can provide you that peace.....
Nothing can be more peaceful than to know someday you will be going to heaven.....
In heaven there will be no more sin of any kind.... All the of the worlds current unhappiness can utlitmately be tied to the root of some sin.....
Knowing Jesus can provide peace and joy..... Happiness is not always attainable in this life for Christians or non-Christians..... But Joy and Peace can be obtained.....
I can have peace with God knowing that my sins are forgiven through his Son Jesus Christ...
Please consider this suggestion: read the Gospel of John as it provides basis that Jesus Christ is God and that the miracles that Jesus performed were done to show us he was God....
In 30 A.D. there was not CNN, FOX News, CBS, etc., however there were authors and historians, etc, Two of the four Gospels (Mathew and John) were "eyewitness accounts of Jesus Life......
Please keep an open mind about the above paragraph.... The bible is Gods' love letter to Mankind.....
The say all the prophicies written about Jesus that were fulfulled in His life make it incredable odds to bet against that Jesus is none other that who he said he is which is the Son God who can forgive sin and take us to Heaven someday....
Please read Psalm 22, the one right before the famous 23rd Psalm.... It is prophetically talking about the Crucifixian of Jesus Christ... The psalm was written hundreds of years earlier........
Please put your faith in Jesus Christ my friend and you will find the peace you are looking for...

GOOD LUCK! because as far as i can see, religion is not the way to go.. i would seriously just go with what your heart tells you. You do nto need someone to tell you about god, if he lives in you.. then you will be a kind person, end of story. Trust me, i doubt he is up there keeping a tally of everyone who attended church, which church, if they skipped out early and how many ounces of soda or beer they drank that week.. please lol. So.. trust in yourself :) Another good idea is to pick up a book or two instead of listening too much about what other people are saying. Unless they are a god, or god, they do not know the "right way" to do anything.. they are only preaching their personal beliefs. And once you find your place in your faith, or religion.. don't go radical.

It's not a religion that you need. If you want peace in your heart, through good times and bad, ask Jesus to come into your heart and be Lord of your life. He will walk with you, give you peace no matter what happens, and you will have a calm at the center even in the biggest storm. God bless!
