I think it will be very helpful. It has already been proven to be a deterrent where there is a fence and I expect this will be no different.

The fence is only another tool in the arsenal of the Border Patrol and Immigration Services.
The next big tool would be the deportation of all illegals. Yes I know its an almost impossible job to get them deported but its the best deterrent I know. The fence will perhaps become a symbol to the American people that we do have alternatives, that we don't have to accept this invasion of millions of people that don't want to join in the American way,no ,they want us to live their way. They don't wish to assimilate at all.Other immigrants have come to this country ,they have worked hard to learn the language of this nation and they have adopted many things that are American. But they too have kept their individualism and still became proud citizens.
The illegals demand rights that they don't earn or deserve, they are not legals coming here to work and live they are illegals ,criminals from the start.
Do I think the fence will stop them,No ,but its a start so I'm all for it.I live in Arizona we are on the front line of the illegal battle and we will win.The time for molly coddling is past.We must act as one to stop the invasion of the southwest and the rest of the USA
NO to any Amnesty
Deportation,not legalization for illegal criminals
The Berlin wall was built to keep people in,this wall is to keep people out.Hugh difference and not a good analogy
And I do agree it should be the entire length of the border.

The fence idea is bad , They should dig a big moat all along the border and sen the dirt to New Orleans to help build up the levees. Than connect the moat to the Gulf of Mexico and flood it with water. Next capture all the surplus alligators in Florida and fill the moat up with them . As the alligators over populate , factories can open up along the borders making alligator shoes, boots and purses. Soulves a few problems.

It is as ridiculous as the idea of shipping them all back. Besides, Bush spent all the money that could have afforded us the ability to build a fence & send them all back, on Iraq.
Are we going to build one between us and Canada as well? That is where the terriorists creap accross, not Mexico. Can you imagine Europe with fences around each country?
The solution to this crisis is out there, but it involves people giving a little to get a little - and the anit-illegal side is not willing to give a fraction of an inch.

I heard that it's only going to be a fence on 1/3 of the border..Do you know if that's going to be a border along the Texas border and over, or the California border and over?
Anyways, No I do not think just building a fence is going to keep them out.

I think a fence should be an obvious step in border patrol. They need a fence that can't be climbed or torn apart.

A good fence with a good force (military force to protect our borders) behind it and maybe they will get the message.

They will always come with or without a fence. The one thing everyone fails to remember is it's not just the Mexicans coming through the Mexican borders. Some of the these people have nothing to lose if caught and everything to gain if not.

I agree...fences make good neighbors. The lack of a wall only encourages mehhico to continue the invasion of our nation.
We have contributed to the Minuteman Coalition and the building of that fence....that's how strongly we feel about it.

I am all for anything which helps our border patrol agents control the mass influx of criminal trespassers.
Carol R, Berlin was a single city in a single nation, There is a very big difference between the two situations, America & Mexico are TWO seperate, sovereign, nations, each with its own form of government and laws. Here is some information you may wish to check out. http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geuoSypw1FlFQA1YlXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTE0OTh2c2pkBGNvbG8DZQRsA1dTMQRwb3MDNQRzZWMDc3IEdnRpZANCVlRfNg--/SIG=12s9t0ujh/EXP=1158609202/**http%3a//www.britannica.com/eb/article-9078806%3fquery=berlin%2bwall%26ct= If not, oh well.
