Zeus was the head honcho of the ancient Greek God system, Apollo was god of many things, mainly to do with nature, and was supposed to be the most beautiful male figure ever concieved. Today, we call a stunningly good looking male an Apollo for this reason.
Of course, nonsense slang gives new meanings to words daily. Who can keep up?
