Today, my 12 year old daughter Candice told me that she saw my 15 year old son Stuart going through my dirty laundry and smelling my underwear yesterday. I have noticed lately that I have been missing a few new pairs of panties I just bought from Lane Bryant.

Is this a normal phase that teenage boys go through, like leaving their semen on the toilet seat after they use the bathroom?

I'm a single parent and can use some advice.

15 is too young to be considered having serious problems.
Consult a professional and get there take on this. I wouldn't jump to conclusions.
I wouldn't listen to the nuts here on line either.

I am 17, and i have never done such a thing. But just because alot of people dont do something doesnt make it not normal. Just as adults have fetishes, children can too. Normal is such a broad term, but if your comparing him to other 15 year old boys, then no it isnt normal. Everyone is different and has different wants and needs. Teenagers who arent exposed to a certain level or sexual content or experience can become turned on by little things that others may find just plain weird. Every teenage boy has their own phase and its nothing to worry about. He will grow out of it soon enough, but until then you should try hiding your underwear, or doing something that lets him know that you are aware of what hes doing without actually confronting him. If you do confront him he would be really emabarassed, and may not feel comfortable around you for a while. As far as the toilet seat, just bluntly tell him to clean the toilet seat when hes finished in the restroom. but do not mentions semen or sound concerened at all. Good luck with this and do not worry at all.

I don't think you should do anything drastic like most of the people are saying, you do not need to bring him to a mental institute or anything. He is going through puberty and is going through changes. Some boys do that. There is nothing seriously wrong with him however. You may want to sit him down and talk to him to see if there is anything bothering him or if there is anything he wants to say to you. I don't know if asking directly would be too good because I doubt he will want to talk about that. He will most likely be very embarassed that he got caught.

You're the first woman he ever met and the one he trusts the most. He's smelling the scent of a woman. Is it abnormal? Not really. But you may want to place your unmentionambles in another place. Don't make him feel bad for trying to learn about the birds and the bees in his own way, but at the same time, don't encourage him to continue this behavior. Does he have a male mentor he can discuss his questions about sex with? He may feel more comfortable speaking with a man who can understand his feelings and perspective. Whatever you do, do it quickly. Sounds like the next step he may take is testing the waters for himself, if you know what I mean. Educate him well because girls these days are scandalous and you don't want him getting caught up out of naivete'. Be encouraged and walk in wisdom.
