I'm looking for something to add to my morning health shake which consists of soy milk and 'enriching greens' powder. What is a good fruit or vegetable to add to the mix? Which is the healthiest?

I'm NOT asking whether fruits OR vegetables are the healthiest....I'm asking if you know of a particularly healthy fruit/vegetable that has mucho health benefits. T

Bananas. They improve your mood, your eyesight, your energy and keep you alert.

You can't really look at the vegetable in isolation - have a think about what fruit and veg you already use in your diet and add something new. There is something good in all fruit and veg so just aim for a bit of balance. Add seasonal fruit that is organic and fresh so it will have the most vitamins in. Also you can change it every week to keep it interesting.

Berries in the summer maybe dried fruit in the winter.

There are many great fruits and vegetables. Some experts believe the berry family (such as blueberries or raspberries) are excellent.

I am not sure what will actually float your boat when you are trying to doctor up a green health powder and soy milk mixture.

Fruit is just more breakfast like. I think you should rotate the fruit that you put in. For one thing, all fruits are good for you, and for another, your body needs a varied diet. They say bananas are the world's most complete fruit, but they are common. I would want something I'd be less likely to eat right out of the basket. I would recommend any kind of berries, kiwi, mangoes, pomegranate, star fruit...Also, you should try to incorporate any of the fresh organic fruits that are at your local farmer's market.

bananas, no doubt. I eat an average of 3 pcs a day and aside from giving you lots of energy, it is a healthy and non-fattening snack, not unless you eat a whole bunch in one sitting. One medium sized banana is only 100 calories, so it's good as a snack better than eating a sandwich which can be 500 calories.

Watch tennis players and they snack on bananas on half time.

It is also a versatile fruit, you can eat it as it is,(depending on the type, there are also bananas for cooking), you can turn it into smoothie/shake, candy, cake, etc. etc. I think it is also cheap and not messy to eat.

Both are quite healthy, but vegetables are healthier as they contain less sugar than fruits.

Tomatoes contain lycopene which is very important for all aspects of your health. But you should eat several different vegetables every day.

Spinach is the healthiest - it contains so many vitamins and nutrients. I don't know if it will taste nice in your health shake.
