I am getting married abroad in october but not everyone can make it! I would like to have a ceremony here (not religious) so that everyone else can experience my happy day. Is this possible? and if so does anybody know of any castles (or similar) in the kent area that will hold a wedding??

try a Humanist Ceremony in the UK. They are non-religious and non-legal, meaning you can write your own vows and have the wedding wherever and however you want. They have celebrants all over the UK - I've attached a link below.

Good luck!

A second reception at home is ok, but PLEASE do not have a re-enactment of your ceremony. That would be in very bad taste. Religious or not, it means you don't think the ceremony and vows meant anything real, if you're treating your wedding ceremony as showbiz-- a sort of act you can "take on the road" for repeat performances.

How about this - I was married in Vegas and had the wedding vidoe'd and photo's taken. 2 weeks after our return we had a reception so everybody could celebrate (and I could wear my dress again) I had the albums out so that people could look at the photo's and just prior to the meal we showed the video so everybody could actually watch the wedding. No services, no hassle and everybody 'saw' our big day. Whatever you decide have a great time.

You can have a civil ceremony and then a religious ceremoney but not the other way around. Below are some links for some castles, hope they're helpful.

If you are already married you cannot have another full marriage service,
but what you can have is a blessing .. where those that can not go abroad can attend.

I don.t come from Kent so unfortunately am unable to suggest a venue.......Have a Happy Day.

I think some places do 'blessings' rather that 'civil ceremonies' talk to your registrar to see if they can give you any info, Also try www.countryhouseweddingvenues.co.uk for venue ideas. It is a really useful site (seating capacity, catering etc) Good luck hope this helps =O)

Why not have a ring ceremony here? Those that can make the wedding can see you married. Those that can't make it will get to see you "seal the deal.

a lot of places will do blessings, (after marriage ceremony) check the ones that have a licence to marry, Ie castles, mansions, parks, etc....

not sure you can have a civil ceremony if you are already married but call your local register office & they can tell you they also have details of places registered to hold ceremonies
happy planning
