When preparing Spam, there are two distinct methods: cold and heated. Cold Spam is best served sliced thin and as part of a sandwich. Heated Spam is a tasty way to jazz up an otherwise plain dish such as rice, potatoes or pasta. Use the Spam as a substitute for any type of chopped meat in your dishes. Stick to plain dishes that will benefit from the Spam flavor rather than compete with it.

"ON THE GO" BOMBS
1 can Spam or other luncheon meat
1 lb. sauerkraut, well drained
1 can prepared apple pie filling
Tear off 4 generous squares of HEAVY DUTY aluminum foil. Cut the Spam into 4 equal slices and place in the center of foil squares. Top each with a fourth of the kraut, then the pie filling. Bring up sides of foil to form well sealed packages. Place bombs on grill, Spam side down, over hot coals. Grill until Spam is browned and "bombs" are heated through. Can be eaten right from the foil. Adapts to stove top skillet cooking, too; just forget the foil.

Any way you prepare Spam is a good way. It is great my family loves it and prepares it in many ways from baked with a ham glaze, to fried. We love it they have a great web site, I've tried many of the recipes. Did you know they have Spam cooking contests? They have sold more than 6 billion cans of Spam so someone out there is eating it, cooking it, and loving it.
