Some dogs eat their own feces, they lick and smell the rear end of other dogs. When a dog licks your face, sometimes with its saliva dripping from its mouth, some germs do transfer to humans. Some people do french kiss their dog. As a dog owner do you find this acceptable just to have a pet like a dog? I don't own or like dogs. BUT, I'll stick with the dogs kids love to bite!

I agree with you. I just find it impossible to believe that the mouth of a dog is cleaner than the mouth of a human being. Wait a couple of years and a new report will come out saying after doing other tests we have found that the mouth of the dog is dirtier than the human mouth. What a bunch of bull to believe that it is cleaner. The dog's mouth that is.....

As a mini side experiment associated with the five second rule, Adam tests the myth that a dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's using the contact plates. The verdict: myth confirmed! Adam's mouth was dirtier than the dog's mouth. Maybe the dog didn't have its morning meal of poop that day.

Yes dog's mouths are cleaner. Have you ever seen the show Mythbusters on Discovery Channel? Well Adam did a test, he licked a petri dish and they had a dog lick a petri dish and then did a test to see which one had more bacteria, and Adam's mouth was dirtier than the dogs!

yes, dog saliva IS cleaner than human saliva-yes even though they do things that would other wise make us gag, i got bit by a shar-pei and immediately went to my wolf-dog, got saliva from her mouth, and used it as a cleaner for the wound and then after properly cleaning it before i dressed it,i added a little more of her saliva.i waited 2-3 days, then went to hospital. told them what i did, they did tests and i came up germ(disease)free. so for me, it works.when i get owwies,i let my dog lick it clean, then i properly clean it. this is only MY opinion and what i have done.

What do you mean by dirty? if you are talking about the germs It's good to know that human's mouth is the dirtiest one because we don't have strong enzymes and immune system that kill germs in our mouth but other mammals have it. so if you make bacterial culture theirs are cleaner. but if you are talking about how people feel about that it's very personal and cultural.

PS: So people who do french kiss their dog should be worry about their dogs not themselves.

My boyfriend'sdog will stick her tongue in my mouth while I am talking. It is awkward and mildly disgusting, but you are more likely to get a serious disease kissing a human than a dog. A dog's saliva has "dog bacteria" and most diseases will not pass on because we are humans and they are dogs. Different species and different diseases.

In a approach confident, and in a approach, no. human beings have micro organism on their tongue constantly for some reason (I forgot), and that's in super quantities. in case you stick out your tongue and seem at it, you notice those circles all on it? that's micro organism! canines, on the different hand, have not got the micro organism. So confident, that's cleanser than ours because of the fact there tongue is roofed with the aid of a layer of micro organism like ours is. yet, our micro organism isn't risky micro organism (for sure) and canines eat gross issues. canines eat trash, eat their poop, %. up nasty issues off the line, etc. while they try this, because of the fact they have not got micro organism on their tongue to interrupt it down, it continues to be there for awhile, making their mouth extremely grimy! So in a approach that's cleanser, yet with what they get themselves into, it maximum somewhat isn't!
