Picasa is not available for the Mac, but luck for your iPhoto is.
The simplest way to send your photo is to drag and drop it on the MAIL icon in the Dock - this will create a new email message with the photo attached to it.
You can also open Mail directly, click on New, and then click on Attach.

Hi, perhaps you can also try google picasa.
picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera.
It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video flips.
It's very easy to use and is free, just like Google
