Hi, they think its a sin because of this and that, you will probably be given evil stares or something and not classed as a christian because you have sinned or something, i dont really know. All i say is do what you want to do and what you heart tells you. I dont believe in sleeping around going from one person to the next, but if you do generally love the person then of course. But people just believe what other people tell them. All i say is make sure you love the person and are commited. I do believe that sex is very important and you should love the person and it is very sacred and special. All that would happen if you are getting married into a christian family or you are a christian, you parents probably wouldnt let you get married in a church, because they have either found out, or you live together.

Christians (I being one of them) believe that sex is a great gift from God just as long as it is between a husband and wife. If it is done outside of marriage it is a sin. God made sex as something special between 1 man and 1 woman. Having sex bonds two people in a way that can cause great hurt if they don't end up staying together. Not to mention all the emotional, physical and mental complications that sex out of marriage causes. Sex outside of marriage leave scars that sill stay with you for life. Waiting for your spouse is not a choice that is well liked or respected by a lot of people, but it is something that can make life so much better in the end! I hope that answers your question.

Not saying I agree or disagree with it, but here's a specifically Roman Catholic perspective:

The Roman Catholic Church teaches that sex is an act that is to be shared only within the bounds of marriage and under circumstances that are open to procreation. The comes from the Catholic belief that all human life is sacred and that life begins at the very moment of conception.

So pretty much the Catholic church wants there to always be a chance for procreation. And since they also teach that children are part of married family life, sex is reserved for a married couple.

It is a sin, just the same in God's eyes as lying or murdering. Jesus died to forgive us of sins just as this, however if you are already a christian you won't want to commit a sin because of your love for Christ and the Father. There are many reasons why Sex outside of marriage was forbidden from God and it is only to protect you. Pregnancy outside of marriage is a real problem. Sexually transmitted diseases. Low self esteem for yourself with having multiple partners. Sex is meant to be something very special in the bonds of marriage. If sex was okay in any circumstance then what would be the point of marriage? It explains the high divorce rate in the world.

The bible tells us that sex outside of marriage is sin, so is extramarital sex so is homosexuality. Actually a dating relationship without sex before marriage builds in a trust that can in no other way be accomplished. If it's okay to have sex before marriage then why isn't it okay to have extra marital sex after marriage? If you have sex before marriage you are much more likely to cheat on you're spouse. The wedding night should be a time of expressing to each other physically all that you've meant to each other emotionally and intellectually over the dating period. The idea of not having sex before marriage is not Gods way of simply saying 'You can't do this because I said so!' It is for our benefit, how many marriages get started based on sex alone? Too many. and what happens to them when someone else comes along? Divorce. Who suffers? well at least one of the partners and the kids if there are any.

If anyone thinks God is down on sex, He is not. After all He invented it. And he gave us the minds and bodies that enjoy sex. And yes, sex is not just physical your mind plays a big part. Explain to me how evolution can make me look at my wife and say "Ohh Yeah"

to quote: "there's more to sex than skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact... we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy...

"Is it a good thing to have sexual relations? Certainly- but only within a certain context.... Sexual drives are strong, but marriage is strong enough to contain them and provide for a balanced and fulfilling sexual life in a world of sexual disorder"

And keep in mind... in true christianity, all sins are created equal... whether it's sex outside of marriage or hating your in-laws

You took a vow. Unless you have a open marriage I feel it is a sin. If that is the case no one should get married. I think it has gotten ten times worse. People cheat as often as you change your socks. I for one feel it is way to risky out there now more things you can catch and sometimes it is forever.

That you should wait until marriage. That is pretty much Christian across-the-board, throughout all denominations.

Other attitudes about sex (such as about homosexuality and masturbation) differ among denominations.
