First, eliminate excess caffiene (soda counts too!). You don't need your nerves more jangled.
Establish good sleep patterns. To do this, avoid using the computer or TV for at least 90 min before going to bed, so that your brain can relax. The lighted screen stimulates your brain a lot!
Try soothing herbal drinks like chamomile and linden (lime) blossom.
Listen to instrumental music, whether it be classical like Mozart or contemporary like Kitaro or Yann Tiersen etc.
Recordings of natural sounds such as rain, waves, the wind in the trees etc. are very relaxing.
Lavendar oil, just a drop rubbed on the back of your neck or a drop or two on your pillow when going to bed, helps a lot.
Gentle exercises such as stretching, yoga etc. an hour or two before bed. Slow, deep breathing.

If you have any close friends it would be a good idea to update them on the things that are happening in your life as they go for some extra support.
Exercising actually helps lower stress level. Even a ten-minute walk can help out, if you don't have much time. It's a proven study.
Don't forget to treat yourself. If you're stressed over your job, spouse, school, etc., it is likely that you're concentrating on everything but what you need or want. Give in to a craving, or buy yourself that cd you've been wanting.
Listen to music often. Anything you can shake your booty to will change up your mood. Sing along. Dance.
Do what you like to do.

Sounds corny I know, but stress tapes are great (the ones with relaxation exercises on them). I play mine every night when I go to bed, and I've never got to the end of it yet without falling asleep.
Also, a load of housework! Scrubbing and bashing about, venting your stress on something inanimate.
Good luck!

Take a warm bath or shower for 30 mins, in the day, eat some chocolate and peppermint (chocolate contains chemicals that make you a bit happy, but there's also some caffeine in chocolate, which is not in the ingredient list, but naturally occurs) And peppermint relieves headaches a bit and some other stuff.

Walk, walk, and walk some more. I have cancer and the anxiety is just about killing me but I must say, taking a walk is really helpful. Sometimes I truly don't feel like it and think of every reason not to go but fortunately I have a dog that loves to go and that keeps me motivated. Good Luck!

I have several ways of releiving stress...
my favorite is to take a nap...it's only temporary but taking a nap takes things off my mind and when i wake up i have a clear mind frame
another way is to talk it out
another is to take a jog./run/brisk walk
It all depends on what helps you let go or forget and take ur mind off things

one of the best ways to relieve stress is exercise. for one you're mentally focusing on what you're doing not thinking about whats making your stress and two it increases the level of endorphins, (i think thats the word im looking for) in your body to make you feel better. plus you feel better about looking great too!

Pick what is most important to do and leave the rest. Take care of yourself, exercise, eat well, take mental breaks.
