the sign of the cross, forehead, tummy, left shoulder, right shoulder.
if you can, and have the chance, i would speak to the choir director about your concerns. if it is a catholic church, then you wouldnt be allowed to take communion anyway, unless they have changed the rules in the past few years. but i would definitely speak with either the choir leader or another church elder.

Go and speak to the pastor. First, it sounds like you are a Protestant in a Catholic, Orthodox or Coptic Church. They follow the practices of the first centuries of Christianity. You need to meet with the pastor and find out what you need to do to regularize your relationship with the community.
DO NOT FEEL PRESSURE. Early Christians waited three years before taking communion for the first time. Since you could be killed for taking communion, the Church wanted to make sure you were ready and were willingly doing it. THERE IS NO PRESSURE. Further, you will note people in the congregation who do not take communion.

From the sounds of it you went to a Catholic Church. Out of respect for the church you shouldn't go to communion. Catholics believe that in Communion Jesus is present in the Bread and Wine they share. There are classes you go to to educate members about what exactly Communion means. Adult members go to what are called RCIA classes which is all about the Catholic Church. If you still want to go up what you can do is go up to Communion and the signal that you are not recieving is to cross your arms across your chest touching the opposite shoulder. The minister will then give you a blessing instead of a host. Or just not go up.

First of all, don't let any one pressure you into taking communion if it makes you uncomfortable, or confused.
Secondly, you didn't say what kind of church you sing at. Some churches do not let non-members take communion, and others do. Find that out first, so you don't inadvertantly break the rules of the church.

What denomination is this church you are going to?
If it is Catholic, cross your arms over your chest (one hand on each opposite shoulder) when you go up...the Priest will bless you, but will not offer you the wafer.
Is there any way you can talk to a person of authority in this guest church, who could help you out better?

If it is a Catholic Church and you are not Catholic, you should not take communion. There is no need to feel self conscious about it either. Just remain in your seat during communion.

You shouldnt practice communion if you are not Catholic or baptized in the Catholic faith. Its a sacrament they find to be holy and a blessing. You shouldnt do it because everyone else does. You dont have to justify yourself if you dont do it. They don't or shouldnt expect you to do it. People who do it, do it for hopefully spiritual reasons, but sometimes I just dont know coz I dont do it myself. Its far more disrespectful if you do it and not know why you are doing it. Its better to just sit the communion bit out.

Commuinion is a wonderful thing to partake of, but make sure your heart is right with God before you do. I take communion serious and I believe communion was to be a serious thing. But we do communion as a way of rememberance of what Christ did for us.

Im not really sure..That dosent sound like the way we do communion at our church..
ours is..
They have a Plate with little glasses with Grape juice..
And then a plate with some bread (like bible times bread)..
And.. Then they pass it around..each gets a Glass..Each a piece of bread and our pastor and asst. pastor prays over each and we all eat/drink at the same time..
That dosent sound like yours tho..
HOPE this helps!
God Bless!

be yourself. Why the pressure? is this a cult? If this is a Catholoc Mass, then communion is only for the baptised. If you want to partake then you must convert.
