Eye contact is the first thing
then you could give a little smile (not a full smile just a partial)
You could ask them to help you with something to get them into a socalizing situation wih you preferably alone (you could even go as far as to create and orchestrate the situation if you do not mind being a little sneaky about it)

Tell them.
Even if your shy, try to tell them. If they like you too it will be worth it.
I know it's hard if your shy, beleive me I'm very shy. But it worked for me and I've been with my wife & soulmate for 10 years and things are great.
