Foul odor can be trapped particles between the teeth--are you also using dental floss, it's imperative to do so. Or you may have early peridontal disease, which causes the 'pockets' between the teeth & gums to deepen, and also traps smelly bacterial (that also are damaging too); pockets require a professional dental cleaning. If you have a lot of pockets or they are deep, you can make a stab at getting professional dental cleaning every 3 months until better or go straight to a peridontal surgeon who will open up the pockets & clean them out.
Other potential causes are chronic infections of the tonsils, or any of the deeper lymph nodes of the throat. Or chronic sinus infections (which can early on be provoked by the swelling of the sinuses & nasal passages by allergies)
Some people have chronic acid refux that creates lots of tissue irritation that can smell too.
Mouth wash is probably not very useful, despite the enormous amount of advertisement trying to convince you otherwise.
In summary, brush your teeth AND FLOSS after each meal or snack. If this doesn't resolve the problem, see a dentist and your health care provider to decide what to do next.

There are many things that can contribute to halitosis or "bad breath." Smoking, post-nasal drip, food, etc. The main thing to do is to quit smoking, brush 2-3 times a day, floss daily, use antimicrobial rinses such as Listerine or Scope, and most importantly, a tongue scraper! This can reduce the overall bacterial count in your mouth. If you can get past the gagging that tongue scraping can cause, it will be very helpful! Also, chewing gum with xylitol (Trident has it) in it will help. Good Luck!!

You may need to see your primary physician to rule out anything systemic. There are plenty of things that can be wrong with you that can manifest in your breath being bad. Also check with your dentist, you may be due for a professional cleaning which removes any bacteria, plaque and tartar that is in the gums and around the teeth. This can also make you have bad breath. Good luck!

First, ask your doctor, as this obviously concerns you, and you will want to know if a health problem is causing it.
Look at your diet: a high protein diet can sometimes be the problem, and certain foods and drink can obviously taint the breath. Smoking can exacerbate the problem.
It could be a dental problem- plaque, etc. If you have receding gums or gappy teeth you might need one of those special little interdental brushes to clean in between. Your doctoe may refer you to your dentist.

you may have gingivitis or something worse called periodontitis. if brusing and mouthwash don't work, floss once a day. It may also depend on what you are eating. After I eat garlic or onion or other strong flavored food, it takes about a day for the smell to go away. Do you bleed easily when you brush? Is your gum line going down, exposing your teeth more? If that's the case see your dentist. You may have periodontitis and if you don't act quickly, you will lose your teeth. I hope you find your answer.

First things first.. Go an see a dentist.. It may just be that your not brushing and flossing properly. They will rule things out like gum disease. Also get your blood sugar checked out.
If its none of the above then you need to invest in a good breath spray and start chewing sugar free mint gum.
Quit smoking if your a smoker..

Try flossing - and brushing your teeth more regualary than twice a day - take mints or chewing gum around may help as well. IF this is an age thing i.e. your going through puberty etc... then it may just dissapper with time.

Mouth odor is a symptom, several causes, plaque and tartar build-up, sinuses, other health problems. Start with a routine visit to your dentist, (which you should be doing every 6 months). Tell your dentist your concern, he will give suggestions to help you.

All surfaces of the mouth are prone to plaque, so don't forget to brush your tongue. Also floss, it will shock you when you see what is trapped between your teeth! Small particles of food will start to smell if it goes rotten, (If you put a small piece of meat out in the warm sun, imagine the smell)

Try brushing your tongue way back there. You may have junk caught in your tonsillar crypts. Food trapped in there will cause bacteria and it smells really bad. Also, certain types of food will do it. Sometimes an upset stomach causes it.
Sometimes it is a rotten tooth or decaying tooth. Lots of reasons.
