You shouldn't take beta blockers if you have asthma.

However, most beta blockers used for the heart are beta 1 receptor selective blockers and salbutamol is a beta 2 receptor agonist, so they won't necessarily interfere completely.

However, people with significant asthma should not take beta blockers.

There are a few non-specific betablockers (that would interfere with your use of salbutamol) used for treating heart conditions. I doubt though, given the availability of beta-1 specific blockers, that your doctor would prescribe a non-specific betablocker if you've had a history of asthma.

Most likely you've been prescribed a beta-1 specific drug, however it doesn't hurt to check with your doctor, or if you'd like, to include the name of your drug in this post.

beta blocks also lower blood pressure ant d the ALbuterol will raise your BP - may cause problems. Don't mix 2 unless the same Dr wrote both for you at the same visit,.
