Im eleven years old.I umm yeah my mom is soo embarresing,nerdy,and cant dance.Everytime i listen to cool,new,and lots of people listen to it she starts danceing from like them 60's and i tell her shes not kool but nothing brings her down and she keeps danceing and singing when she doesnt even no the song i love her but she embarress me.My mom and me and my best friend went to the mall and me n' my friend,Julia,were lisening to COOL music and she starting danceing i stared at Julia and whispered omg she is soo not cool.So like what should i do??????I loveh er but she cant be cool i need advice...HeLp Me

Parents used to be quite embarrassing when I was your age.In your situation there is a little bit action too.You can make a film on your mobile and let her see this by accident.Talk to a friend of her and ask her to help you directly or indirectly.See,that's why I chose to be Uncool mom.LOL

Your mom might embarrass you, or, you could think of it this way: she loves her daughter and is a happy person!! Really, when you get older, I swear you will not care that she dances like an idiot. You only get one mom and she sounds great.
When you said "nothing brings her down and she keeps dancing and singing"...that right there says a lot about her. She likes to have fun. Who cares if she can't dance? She's not your age and she has a different style. Laugh with her, not at her.

Well the best advice I can give is to talk to her, let her know how much she is embarrassing you. Ask her if she would be embarrassed if you got up in front of everyone and started dancing and singing at a nice restaurant that the whole family went to. You sound like a good kid, I understand parents can be embarrassing but one good thing about your mom is it sounds like she likes to have fun, not many moms have that quality

don't spoil her fun. May be you could find out about a 60's band that plays and where they play so she can go dance inher own genre.There isn't much you can do to get her to stop embarrssing you if you have talked to her nicely. Be happy your mom is in a good mood. I read other kids question and their parents fight or are too strict.I am glad you said you love her.She must love being with you and is reliving her preteen, teen years with you. Good luck.Grandma

Don't worry, from experiences just because you have embarrassing parents doesn't mean your friends like you any less they'll just find it funny and like you even more for not having a perfect boring parent! I used to think that because my mum would play glamrock records when my friends came round that they'd think I'm a freak but they just laughed and danced along :)

u start laghing at her so everyone notices u r laghing at her. just dont complain how embarrissing she is and shell stop. if someone asks u about your mom say i know she loves to dance but she doesnt know how to. emberrass her like when shes talking to her friends say wazzzzz up to her friends and go yoyoyoyoyoyoyoyooy wazzzzz up u awsome. hit her friend on the back (lightly) and say waz up on the homie dog. (im 11 too a boy)

it must seem embarassing to you because all kids at some point in their life feel embarassed by their parents...usually between 12-18 due to the fact that you are spreading your wings and finding out who you are and growing up but believe me once u find your self confidence and know who u are you'll look back and laugh ... your mom still think of her little girl and will get into the groove as u mature......be yourself ...be confident and become atrend setter for others to follow!!!

Ask your Mom not to dance in public and tell her why. Then offer to teach her some dance moves. She might not be so nerdy when you take her out.

The best thing for you to do is actually have a one-on-one talk with your mom and tell her that she's embarrassing you and you want her to stop. it's better to let your feelings be shown instead of hiding them in the dark. Good luck!

She's just having fun! I just suggest you and your friend go to the mall alone next time, or don't go to places where they play cool music in public.
