My hubby is a Drill Sergeant for BCT. Usually, Family Day is the day prior to graduation. He should already have that date. It's set very early on. Family Day is usually the day prior because they train right up to the last minute and that way, there's not interference between families and training. The BCT unit usually sends out a letter with all this info in it.
If you tell me where his BCT is, I can help you find dates on the web site. However, Family Day won't be listed. Only the graduation. Family Day is a unit event and each of them handles it differently. Let me know where he is and I'll help you with the site.
Good luck!!
P.S. Be sure to book the hotel. They fill up fast. You'll need to have that in early or you just might not have a place to stay.

Family day is typically the day before they graduate Basic Training BUT anything could happen between now and then to delay graduation.
Your best bet is to buy your ticket for whatever date you find off of the website, and if for some odd reason that date changes for you, it is usually far cheaper to pay the $50 or $100 fee to change the dates ona non refundable ticket than it is to buy a regular ticket.

Most units that run basic training now have a website that includes a full training schedule and specific information on the family days. All you have to do is google for your husband's specific training unit and it will come right up. I went through basic training in 1992 and I just checked my old training company and now the drill sergeants go as far as posting pictures of the training so the families can see their loved ones are OK.
As an example, here is the official page for the 2nd Bn, 39th Infantry Regiment, my basic training regiment in Fort Jackson, SC:

merely BCT is 9 weeks long + a million week of reception. once I went by using, BCT + reception replaced into an entire of precisely 70 days from start to end. As i'm useful you're conscious, AIT course lengths will variety by using MOS. maximum BCT and AIT training places supply their squaddies Christmas Exodus that's time for go away for the holiday season. This frequently starts sometime around the twentieth or so of December and is going till merely after the hot 12 months. in case you get Exodus (which i'm useful you will) then you somewhat're staring at a late January commencement. EDIT: To ?. i'm useful reception lengths variety by using area, guy or woman soldier, unforseen issues, and so on, yet for many military BCT's, it rather is a million week till there are different themes. EDIT 2: if your AIT is ~8 weeks, then your projected very final commencement (in case you do the two collectively) would be on the subject of the tip of March or commencing up of April.

When my hubby was in basic they sent out a letter to the families telling them when graduation and everything was. If they don't do something like that, he should be able to tell you the date as it gets closer. I know it sucks to have to buy tickets at the last minute, but that's the way the military works! Good luck!

Good for your husband - and good for your for supporting him!!!
There is a family readiness unit at each base.
Call the base operator for the base he is stationed at they will get you the number.
If you do not have that base's number you can look up a base close to you and call them - their base operator will be able to get you to their base operator.
If you have a base near you - you can go to their family readiness unit and they have phones you can use to call (it used to be called autovon but I'm sure they have changed the name) without long distance charges.
You may be new to this, but you are already smart enough to ask questions.
Keep asking and you will be fine.
Thank you for your commitment to our country.

I would check the USAF website. I assume he's Air Force since you said Basic Training. Your husband can ask his T.I. , they won't bite his head off.
