Mix the beef, bbq sauce, egg, parsely, onion powder, add bread crumbs or oatmeal (this, with the egg, helps the meatballs stay together). I've never done the cocktail sauce, so I can't help there, but if you skip the bread crumbs, you'll have a sweet ground meat stew rather than cocktail meatballs.

Well, if you just want that basic: Simply pinch of pieces of the raw ground meat and start rolling it into meatballs. You estimate the size by looking at it and determining what you want. Don't season it at all. That's basic.
Then simply fry them up in the pan. Cook them until they are fully cooked inside. The best way to tell is that all sides of the meatball will be browned on the outside, then push down on one make sure no blood inside, and then slice one in half to make sure. You might want to check a couple throughout the pan for sampling.
Simple meatballs - just meat, rolled in to balls, and then cooked in frying pan until done.
SERVE IMMEDIATELY AFTER COOKING. (also try to keep them on a warmer while on the table, if possible) You can serve with barbeque sauce and ketchup for dipping sauces.

Do you have any sour cream? Sounds like if you would mix up everything but the sugar, ketchup, BBQ sauce and jelly, you would just about have your meatballs. Got any mushrooms? any steak sauce? any vegetable or beef bullion? Bread to make crumbs or crackers for crumbs?
I personally would take the hamburger, fry it and then add the BBQ sauce and make sloppy joes and forget the fancy stuff till company comes! Good luck.

I would make an meatball soup in the crock-pot with vegetables . Serve it over some rice or cooked pasta , but do not put either of them in the crock-pot . You can even add some of the barbecue sauce I do except I make my own sauce >
