It could be the tuner in your TV that is at fault.

Every TV has a tuner ( its a bit like the dial on a radio to tune into stations ) and it is normally 21 to 69 UHF. The signal comes down your Aeriel ( like the Aeriel on your radio 0 and the tuner picks out the different channels. ( that is why you have to tune a TV in when you first get it.

Watching DVDs is different because you don't use an Ariela you plug a big black lead in the back. ( this is called a scart ) TV Aeriel's are a UHF frequency and need to be amplified to make them louder before your tuner can pick out the channels ( the tuner in your TV does this for you ) A scart works on a different principal and by passes the tuner in the TV.

If you have a video try connecting it to the TV with the thin lead that looks like a TV Aeriel lead. You Will have to tune in your TV to the video if you have not all ready done so. Basically connecting the video to the TV this way means that the signal from the video goes into the TV tuner. If you still have a crap picture then its the TV if you don't then its the sky.

If its the sky chances are that either your box is faulty or the LNB is faulty ( the LNB is the thing at the end of your dish)

Have you tried another TV on the sky box?

Hope this helps.
