i need to know what the preamble to the constitution and what does it mean???im having trouble with this so i figured id ask.

PREAMBLE

We the People of the United States,(self explanatory)
in Order to form a more perfect Union(left england and our past inequities and wrongful governments)
, establish Justice(set up a fair legal system)
, insure domestic Tranquility(keeping it safe on the homefront)
, provide for the common defense(stick up for ourselves
, promote the general Welfare(take care of our own)
, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity,(to be free, and remain free)
do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.(author and sign the constitution)

The preamble is the opening paragraph of the constitution. It describes why the document is written.

Although the preamble is not a source of power for any department of the Federal Government, the Supreme Court has often referred to it as evidence of the origin, scope, and purpose of the Constitution.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America

It would have been quicker to type in "Preamble to the Constitution" in your search bar. A preamble is an introduction. The U.S. Constitution's preamble is "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." (I'm going by memory here, so I'm sure I've left out some stuff - just Google it.)

The preamble is the first 10 ammendments (changes) made to the constitution.
