Just in in general....I know that the work will be tough but what about the rest? I'm a senior in high school and going to a university in a much bigger town (my town is 5,000 and surrounding towns are the same size or smaller) and I don't know what to expect out of everything. Any advice would be nice...thanks!

Don't sacrifice your sleep for doing homework, but don't sacrifice your grades by not doing homework assignment neither.

Study, don't party. Your future is brighter after you graduate with a good GPA.

Your entire life is going to change, for the better. Going to college is one of the most fun and exciting things a young person can do. You are lucky I wish I was going away for the first time again!

The only advice I can give you is that if you are from a small town, you might be surprised at the amount of partying and drugs that you're going to see around you. I'm not saying don't try new things, but be careful, and make sure you don't let your new friends and dorm life get in the way of your studies. It's really easy for college freshmen to forget why they're there in the first place, and that's to get the euducation.

Good luck, you're going to have tons of fun and make some of the best memories of your life!

You will more responsiblity for your life .. and this can be tough but it is exciting. Where to live, what to eat, what to wear, what classes to take new friends, new courses

The larger town and larger student population will have you rubbing elbows with people who are different from you. Your classes will expose you to new ideas as well.

Most people are improved by the experence .. that is why they do it. And in many ways that is more important than exactly what courses you study.

don't get caught up in party hearty animal house .. and try not to get homesick ..some do.

enjoy

If you stay on campus, you'll be relieved to live on your own. You will still have restrictions, but you'll be free of parents telling you what to do. Chances are you are gonna experience home sickness every now and again, so stay in touch with your family and friends and have them visit. Guys (or girls) may try to hit on you and pressure you into doing things ya shouldn't be doin', but if you stay focused and put school first then everything will be alright. Make sure you have money for food, supplies, gas (if you drive), and some money for emergencies.

Let's just say this, once you're out of college you have done one or more of 3 things.

1.) Had Sex (this will probably happen alot if you are social)

2.) Taken Drugs (Though I'd advise against this)

3.) Gotten Good grades (I suggest this lol)

College life rules! It was one of the best times of my life! Keep your priorities straight: study first, have fun second, but make sure that you do alot of both! Also, make sure that you live on campus because that is half of the college experience!
