How can you call Islam a peaceful religion when it was founded at the sword by it's prophet?
People have, without a doubt, corrupted Christianity throughout history and killed people in it's name. This is something I am, of course, not proud of, but at least Jesus didn't go killing innocent people just because they didn't believe his religion. He also didn't tell people to wage war for him.
Christianity, at least in theory, should be modeled after peace and love. Islam believes in killing infidels, as quoted by it's prophet after burning alive thousands of pagans.
How is Islam peaceful?

I know!
Whoever kills innocent people for Allah obviously has a heart of stone or no heart at all.
Most of my Christian brothers and sisters don't kill.

i'm no longer an expert at Islam. yet from what you assert, you would besides say Christianity, and Judaism are non-non violent religions, because both religions trust interior the concept of Holyness, eternal Punishment, and undesirable issues happening to undesirable human beings. the plausible huge difference is what Christians do to share thier faith. Christians have a motto "share the Gospel, and if mandatory use words", that signifies that a thanks to share our faith is through doing strong to others, and forgiving others. i do not understand what Islam teaches, I have not studied the Koran a lot, because i do not see any enlightenment in a lot of what I examine. i imagine some Christians which have studied the Koran would say that Islam change into all started with the help of militia moves quite than through convincing human beings to transform to Islam, yet that doesn't exclude the convincing section. i'm no longer waiting to assert that Islam through nature is a violent, non-non violent faith, yet I do imagine that countless the Koran that I were shown ought to reason human beings to motel to violence inspired through the Koran. yet many of the terrorism that you listen about interior the information is through extremist communities that thoroughly distort the Koran, or upload teachings to it. There are enthusiasts less than just about any faith, Japan has Bhuddist extremist terrorist communities. imagine that? The Christian religions have sects that are extremist, and individuals interior denominations which have lengthy gone to extremes and killed interior the call of God. that's straightforward to slide into this way of wondering, perchance a lot less complicated in case you stay in a third international us of a and are taught from kids that the Zionists Infidels ought to die.

You have two different questions..
1. How can you call Islam peaceful?
2. How is Islam peaceful?
The answer to the first is that you can say anything you want but that doesn't make it true..
The second is It has shown itself to not be peaceful in the world today.. Daily it is in the news..

Islam wasn't spread by the Sword.
the Prophet NEVER killed a soul in his life.
the Muslims had battles with the pagans of Maccah because the pagans attacked them and wanted to destroy Islam.
the early years of the message, Muslims didnt fight back and were being slaughtered.
verses of the Quran were revealed from GOD allowing them to defend themselves.
Islam was spread through Trade and good example.
Islam brought mercy and justice in a society that knew neither.

ISLAM is a peace loving religion.!
When our prophet Muhammad (pbuh) grew up he earned a great reputation for his honesty and integrity. He always fulfilled his promises. Because he was extremely trustworthy, he became known as Al-Amin.
The Prophet of Islam did not hold any debates nor did he challenge anyone to controversies and discussions. He silently converted people to his faith through his strong personality, charming demeanor and force of divine virtues. He bore with patience the persecution of his tormentors. His characteristics as well as the power of the verses of the Quran captivated the hearts of people.
Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the majority have nothing to do with the extremely grave events which have come to be associated with their faith. Muslims are those who submit themselves to the will of Allah (God). Ameen

christianity is littered with examples of violence, have you forgotten the crusades, when the bible was written if was a violent time in our evolution, so too was the Islamic version, and the bhuddist version,
these texts are in my opinion only the guidelines not law, for if they were law how are they applicable two thousand years later, when societies have developed, in spite of those bloodthirsty books.

i think the violent sects of Islam that you are seeing would be similar to what we find in Xtianity called religious cults.
Most Muslims I know of would not be seen near a gun...on either end.
Remember it was Christians that blew up the Federal Bldg in Oklahoma.

Indeed! It is a tradition of violence. That is why calls to stop violence are so offensive to them.
