Of course you can drink again, but your right, your moms just trying to protect you. She loves you, is that a crime? Not wanting her precious child to get hurt again, and think of the trauma that you put your mom through! If your know now not to drink that much that quickly, fine. Have a couple drinks. But you have to use your brain and common sense when drinking. That's what it says right there on the bottle, DRINK RESPONSIBLY!!!

Of course you can drink again (anyone CAN), but the real question is SHOULD you? You say that you "want" to drink again, which in many cases can be an early sign of alcoholism. What led you to drink a 5th and a half of vodka in two hours? And was that the first time you engaged in binge drinking (consuming a lot of alcohol in a short period of time)?
Surely you learned from your experience that you would never repeat it again, but how do you know that you can control it the next time? Perhaps you should speak to a professional in order to understand why you did that. Your mom is just trying to protect you because she loves you and doesn't want to lose you (you're lucky you didn't die).
Having lost two friends to drunk driving, and another who almost died from alcohol poisoning, I have a pretty good understanding of the bad side of alcohol. Please don't go there; you have no idea the damage path (physically and emotionally) that you'll leave behind.

What the hell is wrong with you? Are you stupid? Do not drink ever again unless you really want to die. If you drank so much before that you actually survived alcohol poisoning, you need to never touch the stuff again. Obviously, it is not for you. Do you want to die? Life cannot be that bad, just stay in school and read The Good Book. Drink seltzer water, let that be your thing. Seltzer with a twist of lemon is fine.
The best of luck to you.

You have nothing to gain from drinking, but money lost and relationships ruined, your mother is probably trying to keep from having a problem with alcohol and trust me it is definitely worth keeping away from the stuff for life...

You can drink again, but are you willing to risk your life again?
I just lost my uncle because he drank way to much Vodka. His decision didn't just hurt him, it hurt his wife, his daughter, my Dad, my Aunt, my grandma, my granpa, my three cousins, and sooooo many more! Think about who your decisions will effect, besides just you!
(His daughter had his first grandchild two weeks after he died :(

yea you can drink again but let me tell you...you think you might wanna drink straight liquor again...but you dont because your stomach will just push it right back up. Start slow and easy, and no straight liquor. I got alcohol poisoning in January and ive yet to be able to drink a shot straight... and ive only gotten really drunk once, so... be careful

No! No one should ever drink!
If you think that you can't last without alcohol, you should see you doctor because it sounds like you have a problem.
Sorry if I sound harsh, I'm just being honest.

If you really did drink that much you are far too immature to be drinking at all.
