I am not sure your question flows real well but lets see if I can answer most of it. Jesus spoke largely in parables and only told the disciples he was to be taken and his life given as ransom for our sins. His parables in the masses basically were his way of giving instructions on how they should lead their lives.There is one Christian religion that makes the sign of the cross and that is Catholicism. Most other Christian faiths do not use that in common practice. Catholicism is steeped in rituals and prayers to the dead which is not biblically based. However, it is part of their belief structure so they have a right to do so if it please them. The main thing Jesus preached was love and kindness to fellow man and that you needed to believe in him as the messiah so that he could deliver unto you the gift of grace which would allow you into Heaven.

Jesus said, "Blessed are you who have not seen, yet believe." I have not seen Jesus. I did not witness His death on the cross. But I am secure in the knowledge that He died for our sins. And that His death paved our way to heaven.

Making the sign of the cross while praying is a Catholic ritual. I was raised Catholic but no longer practice it. I am a Christian. I think that making the sign of the cross is a personal thing, a preference to give the love and devotion to Christ.

My faith is ever changing and growing. I pray that the same will be true for you. God bless!

Questions about Jesus, or Questions designed to convert or recruit people to Jesus are simply a waste of time. People have already decided for the most part if they believe in the fiction written in the bible. People who feel God talks to them have psychological problems because hearing voices is a psychological illness. %-}

jesus was not at all interested in converting anyone to christianity. jesus was a live message. he did not die so he could save others, everyone has to clean up his own poo. he would have liked to see everyone own up to their own mess and correct it, not wait for another jesus to come and clean up again. people who cannot learn, cannot learn. those who can, already have. all rituals you speak about came into being by the organizers who are control, money and power freaks.

Good question, and I agree, it's weird to me as well that faith and rituals change after someone's death.

However, I don't agree with about Jesus death, he's alive in heaven, this is what we were told by God through God's next revelations (QURAN).

What do we know what was said back then? The "bible" is written by man and subject to man's interpretation. If you ask a spiritual advisor for these answers, even he / she can't answer them. Remember, it's all interpretation. Glean out of it what you can and adapt it to your own life and don't worry about those who have gone before.
