The front panels and filter should come off...I take mine outside and hose them down.
The cooling fins can be cleaned also this way but you would have to remove the air conditioner

A service for upkeep will likely value you adequate to have offered a sparkling one fairly. And no, they likely received't sparkling as well as you want or favor for an same reason, value. IF the scent is from the abode it develop into in, the scent is on the coils interior the front yet as well contained in the insulation and indoor side of the fan. The coils are made to get moist so spraying them off with purifier isn't a huge deal yet rinse it off. attending to the fan capacity a finished disassembly. yet, the tray, being the countless the entire bottom of the unit, is made to carry water for cooling applications for the nice and cozy side (the exterior coils) and that tray can get grimy. And maximum of that develop into sticking outdoors so that you'll get leaves and junk in there. it fairly is demanding to get entry to as well as you need to get rid of the front panel (sometimes some screws and oftentimes plastic tabs that may destroy) and then unscrew the case and take it off. I say stuff an air freshener tab contained in the intake air and desire to kill it that way is simplest. ;) (some older fashions got here with a pocket for putting air freshener beads). sturdy success

Your local home center offers a cleaner for A/C components. I have used them before and they work well.

Be very careful with the coils, they are delicate and they can cause leaks.
