Nephesh is hebrew for a living thing and Psuche is Greek and means about the same thing. I'd say that not only doesn't the soul exist, but it's not biblical either. The Nephesh/Psuche in the bible completely contradicts the idea of a soul.
Take a look at the following biblical uses of these words from the following page
http://finalevents.tripod.com/biblicalfacts/id11.html
You'll see that the nephesh/psuche can die and the body is part of it's existance. Without the body, the person doesn't exist.
The bible is also very clear that the dead are dead. If demons exist, they masquerade as dead loved ones to bring decietful messages of doom!
Doom! Doom! Doom! LOL

Ne´phesh evidently comes from a root meaning "breathe" and in a literal sense ne´phesh could be rendered as "a breather." Koehler and Baumgartner's Lexicon in Veteris Testamenti Libros (Leiden, 1958, p. 627) defines it as: "the breathing substance, making man a[nd] animal living beings
As for the Greek word psy·khe´, Greek-English lexicons give such definitions as "life," and "the conscious self or personality as centre of emotions, desires, and affections," "a living being," and they show that even in non-Biblical Greek works the term was used "of animals." Of course, such sources, treating as they do primarily of classical Greek writings, include all the meanings that the pagan Greek philosophers gave to the word, including that of "departed spirit," "the immaterial and immortal soul," "the spirit of the universe," and "the immaterial principle of movement and life." Evidently because some of the pagan philosophers taught that the soul emerged from the body at death, the term psy·khe´ was also applied to the "butterfly or moth," which creatures go through a metamorphosis, changing from caterpillar to winged creature.-Liddell and Scott's Greek-English Lexicon, revised by H. Jones, 1968, pp. 2026, 2027; Donnegan's New Greek and English Lexicon, 1836, p. 1404.

In the Bible, "soul" is translated from the Hebrew ne'phesh and the Greek psy-khe.' Bible usage shows the soul to be a person or an animal or the life that a person or an animal enjoys.
Genesis 2:7--"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (ne'phesh)."
The dead do not know or feel anything. Death is like being in a deep sleep, without dreams.
Psalms 146:4--"His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish."

The Bible actually links the Soul as to being, in short, the human body. Ezekial 18:4 says that the soul that sins dies. So that would basically undermine the entire doctrine.

I'm pretty much the only "DEMUN" to exist! Who is any one religion to say that there's is the right one and others are wrong.....we look back at egyptian gods and say to ourselves, they did not exist, we look back at Incan, Mayan, Chinese, etc..gods and say today, without a doubt, they do not exist,...what I'm leading up to is this, when will religous people realize that there is NO god, therefore, no souls. Is it so hard to accept death people that you would rather create a nonexistant "everlasting life"? Sounds like an escape from reality more then it does anything to me.

the authentic definition of commoner is someone with no peerage identify. The observe "commoner" comes from the domicile of Commoners, the place non-peerage titled human beings can carry place of work. A non-peerage titled royal is a commoner via definition and because of this such quite some royals and the monarch submit to royal peerage titles. maximum people who're blind to the history of the observe commoner think of that non-royals are commoners, and it fairly is hassle-free to understand why! it fairly is unusual to have a royal identify.
