I'd ask yourself what is it that you are unhappy about, and then work on that from there. If you don't have the motivation to change what you don't like and still feel down on yourself, I'd have to say that yes you are depressed and you should seek medical attention. You don't need to be abnormal to be depressed, there are many levels of depression. Talk to friends and family, just don't let it build inside because that's when depression becomes a real problem. You've admitted to having a problem and that is the greatest step towards feeling better.

Do not look for excuses, why you would not consider yourself depressed. Depression shows itself in many ways. If you are not happy with yourself, you are probably suffering with some form of depression. I suffer with it and I function as a "normal human being", but my attitude sucks. I am on prozac. It does help but you need to take it on a regular basis. I have not done that and I can feel myself returning to the way I felt before I started taking the medication. Please be evaluated by your Dr., tell them how you feel so you can feel better. There is no shame in depression, it is a medical problem caused by inbalances of chemicals in your brain. You will be glad you got help!!!!
Good Luck!!! Chin up !!!!!!! I am sure you are a wonderful person!!!!!.............

Well you didnt give too many details, But if it is something you regret forgive yourself. Dont be unhappy about yourself. Change what it is making you unhappy. Write a list of things that you wish you could do, things you are good at, and do these things you always wanted to do. Make simple goals and achieve them. Get a game plan. Be kind to yourself taking extra good care, Get rest, exercise, minimize stress, eat healthily. Good Luck

Have you tried drawing out a mind map / cloud to try and figure out what the different things you're worried about are, so that you can break them down and work on them individually rather than letting the weight of them all drag you down?
It's quite simple... grab yourself a large sheet of paper, lock yourself away somewhere quiet with some tranquil music, and jot down some areas that you worry about, generic things like "appearance" or "relationships", then draw lines off of them and try to identify what you're unhappy about.
You'll start to draw lines between them, and hopefully form a better picture of where your strongest weaknesses are, and potentially be able to work on them individually.

without knowing the details, join a club of a hobby that you enjoy.
find books & magazines on the hobby that you like too. That'll keep
you focused on positive stuff instead of so much inward.
what used to help me was to think that someone else always has
it worse that I do in some way, and someone else always has it
better than I do in another
