Typically, if you eat a heavy meal shortly before going to bed - that will do it. Because your digestive tract remains somewhat active to break down these foods, it has an overall affect on your level of sleep. Your mood will also play a role.

For example, if you are in a good mood, eating pizza with friends at 11PM, then go to bed an hour later - you might have pleasant, vivid dreams.

If you are under stress, get home late from work, mangia down some fast food, and zonk out on the couch in front of the TV - you might experience a nightmare.

There are so many factors. However, you will want to keep in mind that eating right before bed leads to major weight gain, and other unpleasant digestive problems.

No, it is not the food. You need to step over to Alpha Level. This is the brain level in which you dream. Buy relaxation cd's or meditation music. Lie comfortably in your bed and lay on your back. Close your eyes and slowly slip away into a beautiful sleep. Ten to one that you dream during the night.

There's no food scientifically proven to create or stimulate dreaming. Dream On.

My family is living proof that "chocolate cake" creates nightmares in us. Even into the Aunts and Uncles...

Perhaps it is our geneitc make up but we have to steer clear of chocolate cake in the evening or we are up screaming with the best of them!

Good place to post your question... I am interested to see what other foods do it for other people. Two thumbs up on this !

Happy sleeping ! : )
