Put the dog in a small room - I refuse to use a crate. Put paper down everywhere - every square inch of the floor. Make a big deal when it pees or poops on the paper. Each day, reduce the size of the paper area until you have just one sheet. Then you can transfer from the newspaper to piddle pads or outdoors by putting the paper near where you need the dog to go.

Only let the dog inside when you can keep a very close eye on him or her. Don't turn your back for a second, or that's when it will happen. Anyway, as soon as you see the dog start to squat or lift a leg, jump on him! "NO!NO!NO! OUTSIDE!" then of course immediately let the dog outside and watch... as soon as all is out, let the dog back inside.

Tel him no firmly when he potty's and take him on long walks..pay attention because sometimes he might ask you to go out or whatever and you dont recognize his dog language
