I've never given a cruel answer to a question about cats even though I do believe in training them.
You probably think cats can't be trained, but they can. You just have to understand that cats are concerned first with their own comfort and only briefly aware of what they are doing wrong.
For instance, if you trip over a cat, the cat feels pain. Instead of apologizing for being a klutz, yell "OUT!" Soon the cat will associate the pain of being tripping over with the word and you'll just have to yell "OUT!" to clear the room. This is really important when you are cooking and might be carrying a hot pan from one side of the room to the other.
Works on dogs and kids, too.....
Ok, maybe not kids. But you can teach toddlers to sit and stay.

I know what you mean. I've only just seen the light. When someone asked "How many cats is enough?" I foolishly answered "Depends how big a pie you want to make" and was rightly issued with a violation.
It's gratifying that people are prepared to wade through the racist nonsense and foul language in other areas, to expose the real obscenity in Yahoo Answers - foolish remarks about cats.
I have, of course, undertaken not to answer any further questions in a manner which suggests that our feline friends could make a tasty and nutritious meal, particularly encased in pastry. Perhaps with gravy and a few fresh vegetables.

They are mean minded and cruel people, I am not a cat person myself, pretty scared of them in fact, but I would never hurt or harm a cat and respect peoples wishes to own one, both my friends have cats and I will even look after them while there on holidays, still scared of them even when I do that, but cats are fine.

I'd really like to believe they are just wind-up merchants but I'm very afraid they are actually for real.
It absolutely sickens me to think there are so many people like that out there. If I knew where they were and had evidence they'd actually harmed a cat I'd shop them to the RSPCA.
I've reported a goodly number of them, as well as giving their answers a low rating, and will carry on doing so.
I think we just have to take comfort from the fact that there are many more of us who love cats than there are of those sickos.

Ah, but it's not just the cat lovers who are answering cruelly. I can't count how many times I've seen comments like "You shouldn't own an animal if you can't afford to care for it" when someone is freaking out about their cat being hurt....yeah, THAT'S what they need. Don't point them in some helpful directions, just make them feel like dirt. *Sigh* I can understand saying that if someone can't afford say, FOOD or necessary vaccinations, but when an accident occurs, it's no one's place to say what another person can and cannot afford.
Ahem....*stepping down off my soapbox*.
But those people who keep saying "Shoot it" or "Poison it"....or the ones who ask if they should feel bad for decapitating a cat just to see what it was like....yeah, they have no lives.

I agree with you - I have asked questions in the past about my dog, and also answered questions about cats and dogs, and am amazed to see people take the time to bother to answer with cruel remarks. Admitedly, if the question is a stupid one, I do find some of the answers quite witty, but when a person is obviously concerned about their animal, I find cruel answers quite disgusting.
Sorry - I don't know why - maybe becasue they haven't got anything better to do.

Possibly because they don't understand the concept of caring for something other then themselves. People like that are idiotic, stupid and cruel by nature.
Best to just ignore them or if they are particularily cruel in their response where they recommend hurtful, painful solutions to the animal in question, then report their a.s.s.e.s.
