No, I think his fighting days are over. He put on a lot of muscle to play the role of Mason Dixon in the next "Rocky", and then had to lose it to fight Hopkins. Now he knows how Jones felt going into their first fight. He was a good fighter, but his body will never be the same.

No, and for one simple reason: a lot of people forget that despite his somewhat youthful demeanor that Tarver is 37 years old. That might not be too old for a heavyweight, but it very well might be for a light heavyweight. The good news for Tarver is that the light heavyweight division is sort of weak right now but he's stuck in a bit of a "no man's land"--he doesn't have the speed and reflexes anymore to go down in weight and fight guys like Joe Calzaghe at supermiddle weight (let alone true middleweights like Winky Wright). At the other end of the spectrum, even in a watered down heavyweight power I don't see him having the size, strength and chin to hang in with cruiserweights or heavyweights. A few years ago his speed might have allowed him to outbox a hand picked heavyweight a la Roy Jones, but not at this stage of his career. As far as being a "big star" in boxing I still consider him to be one and fight him to be a very entertaining fighter. Don't really know where he can go in his career at this point, but I'll gladly plunk down my hard earned money to watch him fight when he does....

Roy Jones was somewhat overrated and got knocked out by Traver who was only a halfway decent fighter.Jones lost because he fought too many tomato cans and finally went against a guy that threw back.no Traver's fifteen minutes is up.

no he peaked with jones jr and he's a so-called movie star right now so the hunger is gone plus he was embarrassed by Hopkins and his many weaknesses were exploited

I dont think so, ever since he lost hes been out of it. He's lost his concentration and trash taking abilities. If he doesnt get a big win soon hes out for sure
