I don't know that people let their dogs lick their mouth I think sometimes it just happens. As far as why do they kiss their dogs, easy - dogs have more kissable personalities than cats, hamsters, or rabbits.

If you've ever owned a large dog who is face level with you when you sleep on your side, you'd know that the word is not exactly "Let."

And believe me, I'd never deliberately kiss my dog in the mouth -- I KNOW where that mouth has been.

I will say one thing, though. One good big blast of dog breath in your face in the morning, and you are instantly wide awake.
