Even when turned off, things like hairdryers, cell phone chargers and televisions use energy? In fact, the energy used to keep display clocks lit and memory chips working accounts for 5 percent of total domestic energy consumption and spews 18 million tons of carbon into the atmosphere every year!

Regarding the statement on Global Warming being a correct term: Who cares what you call it, it's still a problem. Global Warming actually refers to the average surface temperate of the entire planet. Some areas may get colder and some hotter but the average is still increasing.

Hambone, above, is right that we should try to stop all those cows farting. Remember what it did to the dinosaurs. The idea that clocks and memory chips account for 5% of total energy is pretty wild, in my opinion. I wonder who came up with that one.

I blame globle warming on big business, early in the 1800s but now on the yuppies who run around telling everyone you should do this or that to help stop globle warming, all the while standing next to their hummer wearing polyester mountain gear and talking on their cell phone . What as*holes! Think about it, something has to power our heat in the winter like wood, oil, nuclear power or something. Year's ago every factory was built next to a river or stream to power the shop, and the mills were powered by the same but now its all electric and it has to be generated by something, like oil, coal or nuclear power. We need to get back to basics and realize that we need to keep our grass clippings to send them to power plant's to help with the problem. Think, think, think there's a problem and there's a solution! But will that egotistical, college educated, money hungry butthole listen or since it wasnt his/her idea---it won't work or we can't do that. Get real.
