Stick to the 2 you have - I introduced 3rd cat and all hell broke lose! We had 1 living under the bed, creeping out to pee and poo on the carpet at dead of night and 1 that left home and took up residence in the shed. No. 3 was cute to start with but turned out to be a right bully. Had to give No. 3 to friends in the end as an only cat before other 2 calmed down.

I have 4 and I did have another living here that I was watching for my brother, I can honestly say 5 is more than enough for my ability but still not enough when there are so many homeless.... if you have the money, time and space for a large number of cats then it is ok... make your decision based on your income... can you afford another cat? if the answer is yes, I can afford food, healthcare, litter, toys etc then go ahead and get another cat.

If you have the room in your house, and enough money to cover vets bills there is no reason why you shouldn't have one more cat. Bear in mind though, that a new cat introduced into an established catty household can cause problems with jealousy and hierarchy. I have had up to 4 cats in the past, and eventually they tolerated each other.

Three is a good number -- that's how many I have, and it seems to work out all right. Cats have such different personalities that it's always interesting to see what characteristics a kitten will form when it gets older.

So long as you can properly care for each one of them and afford to feed them, flea them, worm them etc, then of course you should have another. In fact have a few more coz then they have lots of playmates to choose from.
We have 7 at the moment (as well as snakes, tarantulas, a scorpion and 2 kids!) and they just look so cute when they (the cats only!) all pile up on top of one another to go to sleep!

I just have to comment now.....oceansoflight777 said that you should only have 1 in an apartment. That depends on the size of the apartment. We have two cats in an 1100sq.ft. apartment....and we're planning on getting a third.
Basically, as many as you can afford and have room for:)

We have four. Is that enough? My hubby thinks so. I think it's just a matter of space...someone should develop a formula--square footage/divided by number of humans or something to figure out how many is enough!!
Seriously though, if you do get another, I would recommend a second litter box!

I have 3 cats..you can have as many cats as you like but I would like more but my flat is quite small so it wouldnt be fair to have more..if you have quite a big house then 10 is a good number.

If you can take care of them and love each and every one then you can't have too many cats! If you want another one, get one. Just make sure you can love and provide for it.
