no, but the bacteria they generally have in there mouths is species specific so it wont hurt you. people believed that it was clean because they lick their wounds to "clean" them when all that is really happening is they are removing dead tissue.

Anyone who has dealt with human bites & dog bites over a long period of time knows 100% for sure that human bites are by far worse. Whoever is spreading the urban myth that DOG bites are worse--why THAT'S the urban myth!!
In vitro (in the lab petri dish) & hypothetically speaking, bacterial counts from a dog mouth may be worth noticing. BUT dogs have a higher acid & enzyme level in their mouths, and so the bacteria counts are in vivo (on the bitee, so to speak) less serious.
Without a doubt, if I had a choice between a dog bite and a human bite on MY arm, I'm taking the dog bite.
Be not confused about the exposure of dog mouth with the grooming of the dog's anus & anal glands; the residual bacterial counts in the dog's mouth are not the same compared to if a human did the exact same thing (to a dog or another human). That would be the worst of both worlds!

I can't believe some of these answers! Dogs mouths
have certain enzymes in their mouths that can kill lots
of germs but that doesn't guarantee that they are germ
free. Like the other responders have said, a dog will
eat or lick anything, especially things that humans
absolutely will not. So with that in mind, what do you
think? I don't think anyone or anythings mouth is
ever truely clean. Yuck!

Nope, dogs mouths are not cleaner than human's mouths. I watched an episode of Dr. Know a few months ago and they did tests on this, and it is not true.
