I am 5'7" and I weight anywhere from 145 to 150 pounds. Oh yea...I'm 13 years old...despite my age I still feel taller let alone fatter than all the girls in my school and some of their moms. I mean I'm a cheerleader, and I've had boyfriends, but many people don't acknowledge me. How much weight should I lose???

I'm actually very healthy...I am a cheerleader, volleyball player, softball pitcher, and I'm just an active person. I never get sick, but I just don't like wat I see in the mirror sometimes

Hi, this is the girlfriend of Frank B. answering your question. One thing you have to ask yourself is, how do you feel about yourself? It sounds like you are an active person which means that you probably have muscle mass. Muscles weigh more than fat so you can not go by weight. I don't think that you are fat at all. I used to be thirteen and the same weight as you. I was not active and had a difficult time losing weight. Now, I am 31 and 130 lbs after losing 50lbs with Weight Watchers during my twenties. If you eat healthy (a balanced diet), and exercise on a regular basis(not obsessively), you will be fine. You'll notice that you will feel better and people will notice a change.

lose 10 lbs.

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

Don´t lose any weight. Keep active and healthy and throw the scales out the window. You are 13, you are becoming a woman, leaving your childhood body behind. Embrace the new you and have fun. Do not waste your life worrying over a problem that really should not be a problem. Maybe your friends are just late developers in comparison to you.

Peer pressure is an awful thing. If you are healthy and active and feel good, then don't fall into the trap that all of us baby boomers did. DIET, DIET, DIET. At thirteen, your body is changing and I really don't think 145 for 5"7" is a lot. Stop looking at all the skinny models. Just this week, the news was saying how runways are wanting their models heavier.
Be yourself and enjoy your teens.

You say you're active so it could be some muscle. Anyways besides that you are fine. But if you want to lose weight the lowest you can go to is 130 to stay in the healthy range.

Please remember muscle weighs more than fat.... I was 5'5' and weighed 145lbs and was a cheerleader. I wasn't fat at all I was alot of muscle. You play alot of sports and seem to be very active I wouldn't worry. Don't let the numbers on the scale define you...they are what they are just numbers. If you are really concerned about your weigh you should go see you peditrician he/she will be able to advise you on proper weight and diet. Good Luck and please don't let the numbers rule your life!
