me and my sister have not been getting along of about my whole life. now that she is 17 she is really getting to me , alot. she is fighting with me about everything , forexample today she fought with me about me vacuming the floor and she couldnt find her ipod charger. she has alot of mood swings , i ask my mother if she is having an idenity crisis and she doesnt know. reason why im asking this is because she has a coloring book in her room and hanging the pictures up in her room. yes very weird .

now when my mom buys food she will take the food that she likes and keeps them in her room until they go bad. i dont kno why she cant share but its like she is a 2 year old.

perhaps she is on drugs ?

tell me what you think, whats going on etc.

mabey its the terrible 17's

this is more than an identity crisis in my opinion: you say you have both been arguing for some time and she is well over 12-14 now...
issue is she is looking for recognition but cant find it. she is sad not to have boyfriend and is not so happy with the way she looks. but not feeling well inside will not make boys interested in her. vicious circle.
you have to find the right balance ie do not let her go to far with you but do not make things passionate.

I have a younger sister who is very hard to get along with too. 17 was a crazy time for her - she ran away, hurt my mother, would steal my stuff while I was out, etc.

It is possible that with the older sister getting ready to move out or busy starting her own life, perhaps she is making a nuisance of herself to get extra attention. The food thing makes me think no on the drugs (though I could be wrong) because speedy drugs make you not hungry and other drugs like pot makes people munchie often and the food wouldn't likely be around to go bad.

She could be dealing with a chemical imbalance (I think that is what i wrong with my sister, but we will never find out for sure I don't think) or a hormonal imbalance - at 17 hormones could be raging. Maybe she had a bad sexual experience that is making her act so crazy.

I'll tell you, my sister has been crazy off and on for much of my life and she will turn 36 this year. Fortunately for me, she has gotten herself into such a snit that she is no longer talking to me or any of my family members and I for one am breathing a sigh of relief.

Peace!

Talk to your mom about what's going on. Having a coloring book in her room isn't a cause for concern. Hiding food from others is.

This shouldn't be only your problem. Seriously, talk to your mom and/or dad and get this taken care. Express your concern in a manner that is appropriate. Don't accuse or get anxious. Don't turn this into a victim scenario. Be honest and adult about what's going on. You're a worried sister; you have a right to tell your parents.

People fight because they are getting something from it. Negative or positive. Your sister sounds like she can bully you...she probably enjoys that. But the question is, what do you get out of the relationship and her bullying you? Do you like running to your mom to complain? Do you like being the good kid? Do you like not having to take ownership for your part in your relationship with her? Maybe think about how you relate to her. If the stuff she does DOESN'T bother you, then it wouldn't be a problem would it?

That's strange and doesn't sound like anything I have ever heard before. The only thing I can think of is that she's insecure and is trying to feel in control by controlling everything around her (by keeping the food she doesn't have to share it). Maybe she's on drugs.. I don't know if there are other things she's doing that could give you a clue on that. Try talking to her friends maybe.

You seem to be a patient person.Sisters have their moods, you don't know why.Try to shield yourself by being quite and away from her.I am sure she can't bear this and shall change her behavior.
She can be jealous too.May be you have a boyfriend or you are prettier than her.May your parents like you more than her or you are better in studies.
She might be on drugs too but you have to observe her surroundings to have a proof.Watch out for strange smells and cigarettes.

I don't know much about your sister, but from what I know I just blame it on being a teenager. Rebellion and trying to find out who you are and what you like is just a part of growing up. Just because she's being b*tchy and weird doesn't mean she's on drugs....she's just being a teenager.
Hiding her food from you guys is not necessarily a problem; it's possible that she's just being selfish.

I think your mother should take her to a phyciatrist to get help. She should be wanting to move out...could this be her way of wanting her mother to throw her out?!
