I've heard beautiful testimonies explaining how God has blessed Believers with physical healing, renewed relationships, and more. However, how has God disciplined you with love, allowing you to grow and change? How did you feel during the discipline? If you felt alone, when did you realize God was always there, and clearly see what he was trying to teach? What did you learn? If you were stubborn, or needed to be humbled, how firm was your discipline?

I understand the feeling of cleansing and healing you've described. Just as a human parent disciplines children they love, God disciplines his children as well. It is NOT as punishment, it is for correction and teaching. Only someone who has experienced discipline from God, and learned from it, would truly understand. When one is obedient, the discipline is always followed by joy. What a blessing.

The humility and remorse that comes after He disciplines, is so healing to me, and it is so rewarding to know that I am His child, because He only disciplines His children, that is why many non believers think that is not worth being a Christian because they get away with murder and in their mind, God does not exists. That is how rebellion has grown so much, Thinking that evil is ignored, minimized, and overlooked by God. When that happens the orphan child is exercising his/her will.
God has taught me so many things through his loving discipline that are too many to count. The effect is always the same, submission, awareness and repentance. It is a daily battle between my Spirit and the flesh, but I do know who I am in God's love. I am His, thank God I can't get away with much, because it would make me wonder if I am His child.

Yes, I've so been disciplined major. Ah, yeah, I'm my little giraffe skull is thick and it took lots of disciplining from God. How did I feel during the discipline; well it was over a decade, and I didn't even realize that I was being disciplined --- hind sight is always 20/20 (giggle). It was more like God just let me do what I was doing until I exhausted myself from my behavior. Then at total exhaustion, I still did it (smoked) ... ah, well, at my deepest darkest moment in life, there is that feeling that "I'm not alone" and "Breath" and "Love" overwhelmed me. OK, I still didn't go into "Totus Tutos" (totally yours) but rather, God had to re-teach me how to use my spirituality. It's like I was an infant, & full grown person at the same time. I think that I've just made it through Kindergarden spiritually now ("All I need to know I learned in Kindergarde"- giggle). Yeah, I'm still trying hard to shed my bad behaviors, and I hope that I am doing so.

In Hebrews it says God disciplines those he loves.

I remember when I was a receptionist and everybody harped on me and God on my case for every little thing I had done wrong.
But God loved me enough NOT to let me get away with being careless and not doing a good job.

Someone I know who is a recovered alcoholic said as your grow in your walk "the playpen" becomes smaller meaning things you did before you were saved and/or in recovery that the more spiritual you become it is also a call to holiness to serve God meaning you are set apart for God.

God disciplined me many times I was in unhealthy abusive relationships before I got married, and even at my current job that I am at it is very lenient and I can basically do what I want, BUT God has convicted me of being a little too lenient when it comes to work, it is easy to slack off when there is not a lot to do.

God loves you enough NOT to let it slide or for you to "get away with it.

Since there is no God other than what people fanticize in their heads, you will find a whole bunch of interesting, but untrue answers.
