Solar power is definatly an awesome way to go but it is a high initial investment. Solar panels are efficient and all but if you are looking for cheaper, go with wind! I think wind power is about 30% efficient at turning wind into energy. So wind is the way to start off, until you can afford solar pannels, both are a great way to produce your own energy!

carefull with solar panels they dont tell you this but the doping film between the wafers breakdown after time. so they only quarantee 20 years so when you get a price do your maths. if your near the coast and its windy maybe wind power is good option. i personally have been looking at stirling engines they are curious because you can use any fuel to run them. so all you need is one of them attached to a generator and bobs your uncle.

The cheapest way is to buy a generator. The best way (more expensive) is a solar power system.
