What do you think of religion? Its uses, is it easier to put blame on the invisible, than on yourself? Is it easier to blame the devil on the mistakes that you made, then on yourself? Is it easier to thank an unseen force, for your achievements, than your own hard work?

I think of it as little as possible. Loosers blame others and the devil for their misfortunes. Winners thank themselves for their hard work and achievements.

Further, and more frightening, is that organized religion is all about "power," and wielding it over people and nations. Don't believe me?

During the Inquisition, and for hundreds of years after that heinous event, the Pope had a full army and a Papal Hit Squad. That hit squad tried to take out Elizabeth the First because she was a Protestant. Thankfully, they were unsuccessful.

Present Day - The new Pope has petitioned Catholic MPs in the Canadian Parliament to do everything they can to overturn some of our more progressive laws like the legalization of same sex marriage. Can you please tell me why the Pope feels he can meddle in Canadian politics? Will he exact the ultimate punishment of excommunication on Catholic MPs if they do not tow the Papal line?

Power. Not only the ultimate aphrodisiac but the ultimate corrupter.

I'm not sure what religion you are referencing in your question, but Christianity is not like that at all.

We have free will and that has been discussed here endlessly. We choose our paths, whether to follow rules or not, or whatever. Does anyone really ever say, the devil made me do it?

I believe that God created me, I believe that He gave His Son, so that I might have eternal life. I don't blame God for anything, nor do I place the responsibility for my sins on Satan.

If I accomplish something, I do thank God, because I am grateful that I am here and had the opportunity to do a good job. If I win an award, I would thank my family for their love and support, so in life I thank God for the same.

It certainly is. Just look at the Islamic suicide bombers. They have been brainwashed into believing they will be rewarded with a bunch of nonsensical baloney in the afterlife. Those sorry dimwits would not normally consider self-destruction, however due to the radical indoctrination given to them, they were willing to do whatever the religious scammers told them.

only for the blind followers and believers

the invisible or the unseen as you said is not that stupid to giveaway his puzzle so easily
not even to his chosen prophets

the reason for today's religious confusion due to leaders taking advantage of poor seeking souls for fame, respect, wealth or political gains

for sure will you take credits for your success wholely as if ...
you were born without your parents...your peers....your mentors?

did you really did everything on your own?
so do good to yourself
be modest and humble
remember the song "we're not alone?"

there are three major ways to gain control in a Society. the military, the political and the religion. as long as the leaders are providing the proper leadership and knowledge they remain in power and control. when things start going wrong and the Society suffers the people find others to take their place as long as they provide the proper leadership, wisdom and knowledge until they start making wrong decisions when the cycle starts all over again.

Yes, but its foundation will weaken as technology grows. I'd still be a Christian if I hadn't bootlegged a thousand classic rock albums. One day knowledge will be free to all and just as accessible. Religion will die on that day.

Any religion that claims it is the only way to God should be dismissed as lies. I believe religion may have started out fine but when men saw how easily people can be manipulated through lies, and archaic beliefs, they changed it to suit themselves.

That is what Karl Marx said - careful when you mix politics and economics.
