It could be anything from something believed in ones family or some doctrine that adds or takes away to / from God's Word. Or just a thought in your own head you discern as a 1/2 truth.

devilsadvocate, You write "the bible is infalible." Then add a lie, "That isn't 1/2 false, it's 100% false."

Perfect example how the devil deceives with 1/2 truths.

I still don't know if you wrote it on purpose though.

pixieelf, The 1/2 truth in the statement is, "We deceive our selves." . We do. The devil helps us though.

centripet, That is a touph one. I can discern it, but can't explain it.

tjinstloui, The lie being the devil is human beings & not spirits?

tammidee, You did the same kind of 1/2 truth the devilsadvocate did. Is it done on purpose?

Bereal, 1/2 truths is when a truth is said / written and then a lie added to it.

Snake asked, "Did God say you shall not eat of every tree of the garden? A truth.

The woman answered, "We may eat of the fruit of the garden trees: But of the fruit of the tree in the midst, God said to not eat or touch it lest you die." Eve added to God's word (about touching it).

Then the snake added a lie, "You shall not surely die: (then a truth) God knows the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good & evil.

She was tempted then ate of the fruit of it. Died spiritually (forbidden the tree of life), then within 1000 years died physically. (A day to God is like a 1000 yrs & a 1000 yrs like a day.)

angelsun, Try ? to block out satan's voice? When satan gives a 1/2 truth. Cast down vain imaginations exalting self against knowledge of God. Repeat the real truth out loud. Faith comes from hearing & hearing a word (truth) about Christ / God.

cap kirk, Everything you wrote is hazy, meaning confusing. So I discern it is false. The devil does this though in false religions. By truely appearing mysterious.

defof, I believe in the rapture because of certain verses in the bible. So I don't believe the concept is of the devil. I don't believe every born again christian is going to be ready for the rapture (being caught up) because they don't have the oil in thier lamps full. I believe the rapture & the first resurrection is the same and started when Jesus raised from the dead. Those left behind will have to refuse to take the mark of the beast & may get their heads sliced off. Then they will be resurrected (raptured). The first resurrection is completed when Jesus returns for the 1000 year reign of Christ. I believe it is a process. I don't believe I am writing a 1/2 truth either.

marvin, I see 1/2 truth, exagerations, & false comparison of words. So different ways than 1/2 truths the devil deceives.

pippipoo,
Jesus is the way to heaven. He is the one who paid for our sins. Sins will not go to heaven. God is Holy.

"You are going to hell!!!" is a lie but may be true. So I guess that could be a 1/2 truth.

"The end of times is near." I think it could be a 1/2 truth depending on the definition of what the end of times is. I doesn't predict the new heaven & new earth till after the age of Christ. That is a long time.

sassbe, The bible is the only inspired Word of God. I gues the "only" is a lie. So that is a 1/2 truth. I know that other so called word of God books is contrare to the bible about salvation & is enemy of finished work at the cross or an enemy of the Father & the Son. Many good books out there though, & the inspiration is supported by the bible, Word of God. If it contradicts the bible, I discern 1/2 truths.

paradise, Good examples of 1/2 truths. You write a truth, then take verses out of context to make the truth false. Deffinatly a way the devil deceives people.

Encourager for God, I see you believe exagerations are 1/2 truths also.

Poverty is a curse. God is the God of more than enouph. There are rules though. Called obedient to God and claiming God's promises out loud.

When country has wicked King the people suffer. I pray for Sudan. Wicked people in high places continue to do genocide.

Pray for your loved ones when you sense they might be in danger. Plead God's grace over them & pray as God leads. God has saved my daughter from death because in her runaway days the devil tried to do her in.

The devils trick is saying," God hears your prayers, but it won't do any good to pray." That would be a 1/2 truth. When God hears our prayers, God answers & directs & saves. Yes sometimes people still die early. But I am sure if the mother pleaded the blood of Jesus over her child, & child died, the child is in heaven. Sometimes innocent die because of other's sins or the environmental sins. The devil is behind it.

When people are refined like gold or silver, the dross comes up & it isn't pretty. I see some dross that needs to be tossed & trust in the finished work of the Lord God. Refined in the fire.

A half truth?

"THIS is the ONLY WAY!!!"
No, my friend. Yours is one of many.

"YOU will GO to HELL!!!"
No, my friend. A kind and loving god will not throw any of his/her creations into a burning trash heep.

"The End of Times is near!"
No again, my friend. Early Christians being thrown to the lions did so willingly because they expected Jesus to return in a day or so.

Half truths..............

Everybody is doing it.

No one is going to find out.

God will ALWAYS give you want to want. ( Not always the case)

IF you tithe and give your money God is going to bless you even more ( Partly true BUT I know people that give all they have to the Lord not just finances but all their lives and they struggle).

Poverty is a curse which is a lie because the Bible says lazy man makes a hand poor BUT most young couples like my husband and I are the working poor not poverty level but not quite middle class. IF poverty is a curse what about all those 3rd world country's who have nothing? There is a lot of loopholes in the prosperity gospel.

If I pray for protection nothing will happen to my family. God does NOT keep your from all harm. I know of a woman whose husband and daughter died in a car accident and she said I thought if plea the blood of Jesus over them they would have been alright. That is not always the case, a dear friend of mine also had an untimely death at 31.

Read what the Bible says about half truths and lies Proverbs is a very good book.

The Rapture is a good example of a doctrine from Satan which is not in the Bible but simply a private interpretation. If it never happens, there is ample scope for discouragement and widespread apostasy, both aims of the devil. We are now in that age where such doctrines are reaching their intended end by the father of lies where earlier it was not important. I am a believer in the second coming but not in a third or a fourth or an in-between.

Half truths is telling you that what God said in His word, does not apply to you, telling you that your "feelings" are facts, that God does not care, that you are better than your other brothers and sisters, that you are worthless and "bad", that you will never make it, that the word of God is not true is the biggest lie and the most used tool to deceive many, there are hundred of lies that he can only"suggest", but he cannot "make" you do, because he does not have that power. A Christian is more powerful than Satan because of his/hers sanctification through salvation and the Holy Spirit.

Research the original words used for Hell in the Bible. Old Testament uses Sheol frequently...means the grave. New Testament uses Gehinnom....literal trash dump where criminals were burned alive. As you can see not exactly a lake of fire Hell we are talking about here.

Twisting the biblical teaching that all scripture is inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16) to the false teaching that *only* scripture is inspired by God and it should be our only basis for Christianity. This makes about as much sense as saying since all apples are fruit, then only apples are fruit. "Bible alone" Christianity is not biblical and is a teaching added to the word of God.

i love you only-- Christians are better than anyone else -- any ( fill in the blank here ) race is superior to another -- the blank political party is always right -- the sun has never stood still -- killing and murder are the same thing --

hope these few help you.

Most of the bible is from the imagination of men. Sin, Hell, and Satan are man made words, not God made.
