black christians have a black jesus image, whites have a white jesus, browns have a brown jesus. and other sects and rituals too. Then why is olytheism criticised in christianity?

you try to justify trinity and various depictions of christ as symbolism and it is the same in polytheist beliefs. There are different deities which symbolise the various forces of nature like the sun, wind, water etc.

Yes, I see your point. You could also see this point in anylizing their theory of Trinity. Three would be poly (many). But wait, it only one! They are a confused Flock! ; )

Polytheism is not having a black or white or brown or red Jesus. Polytheism is belief in, or worship of, multiple gods or dieties. The word comes from the Greek words poly+theoi, literally "many gods." The belief in many gods does not necessarily preclude the belief in an all-powerful all-knowing supreme being, as the ruler and parent (often king and father) of gods and mankind, but Christian is still not polytheistic, unless you are talking of sects that claim to be christian but are not like the Unitarian/Universalists who do not believe in the core doctrines of Christianity.

having a different view on what Christ looks like doesnt mean that there are different Christs..Personally I'm white and belive he looked middle eastern..it's where he was from..anyway..other sects have their own thing but they arent worshipping more than one God. Learn the meaning of Polytheism before you ask questions about it.

EDIT: asbout the Trinity It's God three in one..still one god just different forms...study it before you knock on it.

EDIT: I dont understand what you mean. They don't represent other apsects of Earth like sun water etc...they are all the same. Example of that would be like Isis and Hathor to different Goddesses with two different jobs....The Trinity is the same being.God Jesus and the Spirit are 3 in 1 therefore its not poly..it's still one surpreme being.Like:
Ok this is weird but I understood it...
God is an ice cube. The melted water is Jesus. The vapor coming of is the spirit.3 forms of the same exact thing.

Well, these are just statues. Differant ways to represent Jesus. No one knows EXACTLY what JEsus looked like, and it isnt a sin to represent him as a black man, even though we know he wasnt.

Christians beleive in a triune God. 3 person-1 nature. Thje Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. While there are 3 persons there is one God. Therefore it is a heresy to say that there is more than one God. Thats why Christians frown upon polytheism. (Just to answer your question)

Jesus the human being was a Jew, a Semite. He probably looked Jewish.

Jesus as the Second Person of the Blessed trinity, God, is a God for ALL humanity, so representations of Him as visually related racially to one group or another are merely an attempt to feel closer to Him.

Does the word "symbolic" have any meaning for you?

Not at all, We only have one God with three different characteristics. Read 1 John 5:7 to understand it from the Christian perspective.

Polytheism is belief in, or worship of, multiple gods or deities

Because they have placed Jesus in their own cultural group is not polytheism.

Most likely Jesus was olive brown perhaps darker.

If you studied the bible and lived the way God intended you to live, these questions would not matter to you at all. It is because you are spiritually incomplete that things like this come to your mind. They are very imaterial to a real born again christian.

I don't see why anyone criticises polytheism. Why is monotheism better; is less better than more? If it is then it is an argument for atheism.

There is one true God, how we perceive him, or paint icons, does not change the truth.
