My Cup Runneth Over

this is from the book of Psalm (authored by King David of the Bible). It's the Psalm 23:1-6 passage, specifically, Psalm 23:5.

You may look up the Bible, any version would do, be it King James version, New International version, etc.

It goes, "Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over."

"my cup runneth over " means that you have an abundance of blessings, so much that your cup is overflowing and you shall not be in want anymore...

that's how God's mercy is....

It is from the Holy Bible, Psalm 23. It means that your life is truly blessed by God, despite whatever may be happening in your life. That you recognize the hand of the LORD in your life and you are greatful for all He has given you. This is no such thing as being "too blessed". That's an oxymoron. If you're too blessed, then there's something wrong with the blessing. So, in essence, it means "I am so blessed".

RE:
what does the phrase "my cup runneth over" mean??

is a quote from the Hebrew Bible[1] (Psalms 23:5) and means "I have more than enough for my needs" though interpretations and usage may vary. Notably, it can be employed sarcastically to indicate that someone, e.g. one's host, is being less than generous

My cup overflows. Usually a metaphor for how much love someone has for another.

Usually it means too much of a good thing (my cup of ale is overflowing).

It's means that you have more than enough of something. You have much so you don't need anything.
