Our little man had that also...... he responded best to hydrocortisone cream (from the pediatrician) and Gold Bond baby powder. Acid foods & juices, like orange juice and tomato sauce seemed to make him flare up more. Try to stick with blander foods, like bananas, rice, things like that when he's flaring up.

Destine makes a fresh scent diaper rash cream that helps heal over night. Also, when my son has diaper rash I use the Baby Aveeno oatmeal bath nightly until healed up. They make baby wash and lotions for Exzema. Have you tried those?

You poor thing my middle child had it from birth to its hard to deal with when it turns to nappy rash try letting it air (no nappy on) i got givin a mud paste that was thick so when she peed it didn't run off it was great i went through so many creams it just wasn't funny so keep trying different creams eventually you'll find the right one in the been time change that nappy all the time like every hour and a half just so the pee stays off the rash and clean their rash every time you change the nappy with a cold cloth not wipes cause i found the made it worse i really hope this helps you.

I had a similar problem with my now 9yr old daughter. I was advised by a homeopathic Dr. to purchase some pure Lavendar essential oil and add a few drops to the bath. It cleared up her rash almost instantly. This worked for us. This is AFTER trying all of the over the counter stuff and the prescription Elocon cream (steroid). Good luck!

The best treatment for eczema is to make sure that you don't change the stuff you use on my. Dove soap is the best. Also cigarette smoke, and animal hair can make it act up. Use unscented wipes. If you haven't already consult a dermatologist. They will be able to tell you the best stuff to use for the diaper rash. That is the problem with kids with eczema is that they respond to over the counter stuff differently than other kids. I would only use on them what I doctor tells you to.

Use petrleum jelly with every diaper change. Keep the part exposed to the air as much as possible. Wash frequently and dry afterwards. For eczema, use a steroidal cream if wet and ointment if dry.

In terms of cremes, there is a great creme in the UK called Metanium - works really well for clearing up nappy rash. Also urine is highly acidic, so keep changing nappies regularly. Try and get him to tell you when he is weeing so you can change quickly.
Checkout a company called HaloN Horns for additive free washes and shampoos - excellent (no affiliation).

At Wal-mart , I finally found a cream called Butt Paste. It is located in the diaper area. It is so good and hopefully it will heal and help your little boy. Cortizone cream also works, Cleanse the area well, before applying. Good Luck.

first of all. if he's had it for that long you should talk to his pediatrician about it. my sons had exzema for a few months and it resulted to be food allergies. i guess exzema is related to food allergies. as soon as i found out and took out everything he was allergic to his skin cleared out. if it's not allergies then it's best to just get a steroid creme from your doctor. good luck
