There are some dog foods at pet stores that are designed to put weight on the dog. Try Petco or Petsmart. I prefer Hill's Science Diet products, a little more expensive but worth the money. Good luck. Glad he has recovered from parvo.

Dont give it any human food that is very bad for the dog and dont give it lots of treats either. Just feed it double servings of dog food a day. It still needs excersive and all of the good ingredients from its normal dog food, we use Iiams, but either way just feed it on a schedule more of the dog's normal food, anything else is harmful, but treats are fine everyonce in a while if he is a good dog.

Try to give the dog puppy food. It is higher in calories than regular dog food. Feed her two to three times per day. This helped put some weight on my dog.

Give six smaller than normal servings a day. Depending on the food you use, you'll find a suggestion on the package. You don't want to give only one or two large meals because of bloat.

Does anyone remember -which i doubt- that back in the day...that's all they fed animals, was table scrap...so, how could it be bad for them... does anyone really read the actual labels of what they put in dog food ? My theory - if I won't eat it..my dog sure isn't going to...My vet said my dog was extremely healthy...so I must be doing something right....

You don't want to put weight on him to quickly.
Add about 1/4 to 1/2 cup to his normal diet.

Well it is not recommended to have an overweight dog and considering that it is not healthy I would say that feed your dog as it should be fed and keep him in good health.
