Get him to lay down, then take a treat and make circles with your arm in front of his face and say "ROLL OVER< ROLL OVER!!" VERY enthusiastically.... His head will start to bend to the side as he gets the idea. Encourage him. You may also give him a nudge or two, forcing him over the first couple of times, and rewarding him IMMEDIATELY with the treat, and praising him, petting him, saying his name and "Good boy", etc.
It is also good to have a special one-syllable word that you use when praising him...Like "Yes, yes" and say it in a soothing tone. Puppies respond to praise.

Well before you teach you puppy to roll over, it needs to be clicker trained. You can get a clicker for free from a place like Petsmart or somewhere similar. What a clicker does is tell you dog when they have done something good. Everytime you click it you should reward your dog with a treat. Keep doing this until your dog knows what the clicker means and can respond to it by running up to you when you have clicked it from a different room.

After your dog is clicker trained, it needs to know the sit and lay down commands. To teach your dog how to roll over, you should start by holding a treat in you hand and having it sit. Then from there have it lay down. When it does that, gently roll her body over while saying roll over. If your dog allows you to roll it over, click the clicker and give it a treat. Keep doing this until your dog realizes what it means. Soon they should be able to roll over.

When you do tell you dog to roll over, always tell them to lay down before you say roll over and always reward your dog everytime they do a correct command. Good luck with teaching your puppy! Hope this helps!

This is what worked for my dog. She was about 3 months old.
I rolled her over, used a hand signal for "roll over", and said clearly "Roll over". Then I gave her a treat.
I just kept repeating this a few times and then tried doing getting her to do it herself.
If she doesn't catch on after a few tries of this I would give her a break for a few hours and then try again.
Luckily for me my dog loves treats and she caught on within 30 minutes.

Good luck

I taught mine. u have to lay the dog down &say "roll-over" & then push your dog & make it roll over & keep on repeating it but it also depends on the breed of the dog.
