LOVE that verse, and consider it the ultimate for inspiration and hope. I have been encouraging myself and others with it for many years. BTW, He's God with a capital G... you probably meant that.

Ashley

This is one of my favorite passages in the Bible. This verse helped me when I was in an abusive relationship.

All things do work together for good BUT not everything that happens in life always feels good.

God has a plan for everything that goes on in our lives. He loves us and He cares for us, and if God shielded us or protected us from every harm we would not be Strong individuals or have the capacity to minister to others.

This verse has helped me though some very bitter trials and very bitter hurts God works it out I don't believe as a christian that everything falls into place but I do believe God works everything out.

I feel also that this verse is a verse that everyone can learn from.

Thats actually one of my favorite and often quoted scriptures. You must include the latter part of the verse however to get the whole meaning "...to those who are called according to His purpose."

What this verse tells me is that even the bad things that Satan or others bring into my life, God has a way of causing all the evil plans and intentions to turn out in my favor, as long as I am living a life pleasing to Him.

On the reverse side of this is the fact that even the good things that work in the favor of those who hate and reject the Lord will turn out as a witness against them in the end. For all the blessings that came their way they did not thank God for His providence and protection in their lives.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Everything we do as Christians, is to be done for the Glory of God Himself. He is to get the credit for all things that befall us in life. Even some of the bad things happen to us, and bring us closer to God, when perhaps we may have back slid in our walk with God. Bad things can bring glory to God, when they show us that we can't go at life with out Him. So we praise Him for them and for leading us back into his lighted path.

109 Ephesians 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

110 Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

111 Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

When we walk in God's truth and obey His laws, and do everything according to what HE wants from us, wrather than what we want for ourselves, We in the end will get our hearts desires for that surrenduring our will to God and accepting only His will in our lives. That is when we recieve His blessings and gifts in life.

Only the children of God, the brethren of Jesus, Love God, so why would God not work out things for their good?

There's not evidence that this works reliably. Bush loves god (he says) and he led the US into really nasty war. Is that good for the other christians in the US? Especially the dead and wounded soldiers?

What about the way gay christians are treated?

There's plenty more examples...

I "feel" that there are other verses that show how god treats those who DON'T love him and I have no interest in a god that would torture or slaughter millions upon millions of people for the crime of ignoring him. Not hating or abusing him, I mean simply ignoring him.

WE,along with all of GODS creation work in syncronisity to manifest GODS vision of himself. SEE the next verse, romans 8:29 ,to be conformed to the image of HIS SON,that he might be the FIRSTBORN among many bretheren. this in eastern terms is the GURU DECIPLE RELATIONSHIP.
