I love how everybody is "dumbying up" or criticizing the question BECAUSE you know that what you believe about the Bible is negative and would make a serial killer feel more comfortable.

Wonder W - " In reality I think that a serial killer would feel justified most of the time".
You know thats not what I meant. A serial killer would be more comfortable with YOUR beliefs than a believers, period. In a conversation.

Wonder W - " If you examine the pathology of God in the Bible and the Koran, god comes across as having the same traits as most serial killers".
Wrong. You just don't understand. God is revealed as a God of love, holiness, and justice. The Word reveals God's plan to us. Anything in that plan that does not seem right to you, is because of your limited knowledge. You have a problem there. The answer is to TRUST God. Your perspective is way too tiny for you to be judging and accusing God like that. With all due respect, you sound pretty silly.

celtic wom -- I disagree. If the Word was talked about intelligently to a serial killer in a conversation, they would "lose" the debate and feel uncomfortable with the conversation, knowing that they are guilty. However, he would love the skeptics perspective!

I think most, if not all, serial killers are sociopaths. They are unable to feel the kinds of emotions that the majority of us feel. They cannot empathize with the fear their victims feel. Their sense of right and wrong is skewed or nonexistent. So, the Bible would likely have no effect on them. It would not make them feel better or worse about their behavior.

In reality I think that a serial killer would feel justified most of the time. I'll tell you why that is. If you examine the pathology of God in the Bible and the Koran, god comes across as having the same traits as most serial killers. God is Narcissistic, Dominating, and has no empathy. He is also cowardly in that he cannot face humanity himself and lets his son die in his place. I think that a serial killer would easily identify with god and justify their actions that way.

I believe the first response would be remorse and deep sorrow for what they had done. Then they would probably move on to asking forgiveness and trying to turn their lives around so they would be worthy of God's grace. However, since we are not talking about how a rational person would think, because serial killers are not rational. Sneaky and cunning, yes, but rational doesn't enter the equation. That being the case I doubt they would get much out of it.

I'm unclear here. How could it make a serial killer feel better about his evil?

Well, I'm not a serial killer so I can't answer this. Okay, goodbye.
