I agree with you.We should not be wasting our points in asking negative questions about God.
Shall I say..spend it in heaven? Finally..I will be able to see the author of my life and give my praises to Him!

There are so many negative q & a on how bad God is because for centuries before this, most of the q & a was on how bad the devil is, the crusades, where they glorified God in the then believed correct way to attain salvation.
Also, there was not as much information on various religions then. You live in the digital age, the people past had no such quick medium to do research and apply critical thinking.
Since eternity has not been proved or disproved, and neither has a final destination been similarly proved or disproved, that question is either a speculative one or a closed doors solution based on ideas promoted from various religious texts.

If you want a forum where no one challenges you and where everyone agrees with you -- why are you here?
Personally, I wonder how a god who sends good people to hell just because they are not believers can be considered good (I call it evil). I find a god evil who would send an angel to Egypt in order to kill the first born child of each family. I find a god evil who says it is OK to beat your slaves -- as long as they can get up within a few days.
I think that the Bible was written by men -- and that if there is a god -- then he isn't like that at all. If he exists, I hope that he is good. If he is, then I do not worry about where I will spend eternity -- because I believe that he will not be as capricious as the God of the Protestants.
However, I fear for how you will spend eternity. Because I believe that if there is a god, he will reward those of us who searched for truth and rejected the idea of believing in a god of fear and violence.
I believe that the story of Adam and Eve is misinterpreted. Many believe that Eve was faced with a decisin ov choosing blind obedience and happiness or choosing knowledge. They believe that blind obedience and happiness would have been the correct choice. But I believe that she chose correctly. Every day I face the choice of happiness or knowledge. Every day, I choose knowledge.
So should you.

People will always question the nature of things they do not understand. Some of us just accept it and move on. I believe I will go to Heaven because I believe Jesus died for me and I am born again. I do not think God sent Jesus here to fix the mistake he made by creating Hell, as the person above suggested. God does not make mistakes. Hell is there for a very good reason. It is to be the resting place for those who turned away from him after being given so many chances to accept him. He doesn't want anyone to have to end up there but as you see, even with the perfect sacrifice of the lamb, people are still too full of pride and too busy running after there own gains day to day instead of trying to lead a Godly life. That is what freewill is all about. You choose your own bed to lie in and if it turns out to be a hot one , well you picked it for yourself.

I just lost my childrens father two weeks ago - he was "the one". (34 years old) My world felt like I had been living in a box and someone dumped it - finding the pieces and trying to get them back where they belong is so difficult. I still talk to him, cry to him - and I know what his answers/repsonses would be to me (no I'm not "mad" I can't technically hear him but I do know what he would say). I feel his presence here. And I've thought about where he would want to be right now. With us - watching and guiding. But yet would he be with his father (*he lost him at age 15)? Can he be in both places? Does he have to decide? I pray he doesn't have to.
But what bothers me is why we talk about death, fear it - wonder - where, why, how, what happens after it? Honestly, death made me afraid - is there cold and darkness? how do we breathe? are we alone? but after analyzing in my own mind I've realized that I never before examined death - or understood death (not that I ever fully will) but I do know that my baby is now at peace, no struggles or strife - and we will meet again. Reincarnation? I believe in that. My eternity is my destiny - my destiny; my journey... and for my journey I would choose this life all over again each time regardless of the hardtimes and trials I've been thru - I've ALWAYS been rich with love (those are my 10year old daughters words). The experiences I've lived - the love I have given and recieved - the gifts of life from my children - being a mother (my real purpose on this earth) - family - smiling (I am really learning that a smile is a feeling not just a "gesture"). I have never asked for lots of money (I have a great job that I love and happens to pay alright). I would be perfectly content to love my life all over again.

Now I've been on the Earth for a long time and I have no problem with my faith in God. I see his hand in the creation of everything around me.
The only thing I have ever taken issue with is questions of religion and I use to have a problem with that. I have come to understand why in my older years.
God created the heavens and the Earth.
Mankind created religion and yes I give mankind credit for attempting to do Gods work but nothing Mankind creates can hold a candle to the creations of God.

SO, we are only supposed to look at the good? That is no way to look at anything. If you are going to really look deep into something, to try to understand the reasoning behind something, then shouldn't you HAVE to look at both sides? You cant say that God is good and that is the end if it. You cant just disregard the bad things he did just because it doesn't go along with what you think. If the Bible is "the word of God" and if you are a Christian and you take the book as fact then you MUST take into account the bad things as well as the good. Otherwise, your arguments are baseless and unfounded.

Right now, the presence of good will not be without the presence of evil. This will contnue until Jesus raptures His church which takes place in Revelations4:1
1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
When Jesus is saying "come up Hither" he is rapturing His Church/bride into heaven with Him.
So until that happens, there will always be constant fighting between good and evil. But the good news is that good will win over evil. Praise the Lord.

God did not create hell, He did not creat satan, He did not create sin. We do not go any place when we die except into the grave (hell). We do not go to heaven, we do not go the Hell. Our consciousness simply stops! God sent His Son the the Anointed Sacrifice for us so that we as individuals could have another chance, since Adam and Eve failed in their attempt. This is the Love of God; that He gave us a second chance.
So, what are we going to do with it? Are we going to do what He has told us to do? Or are we going to do what ever it is that we want to do, and by doing so spurn His love?

Good question.
If I would die right now, I would be in the presence of the Christian God, with the confidence of spending eternity with Him and with those who have committed their lives to him.
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm
Cordially,
John
